Maybe provide helpful advice to someone new to the community instead of just immediately posting meme answers shitting on other VSRGs ?
Or if you don't have helpful advice, just...idk, don't respond? I don't personally have any advice as I'm fairly new to playing o!m myself, but this really grinds my gears when people act like this with new members genuinely seeking advice. |
Re: Best Maps For Osu!Mania Thread.
I personally find the best thing to play is stepmania converts, as the ranked map section isn't good on osu!mania, but the etterna engine plays like actual horseshit (I think I got aids from how bad it is tbh). So take the good etterna maps and put them into o!m and it's the best thing for me.
Yes the etterna jab was because apparently it's acceptable to shit on o!m so why not etterna get it as well |
Re: Best Maps For Osu!Mania Thread.
What really gets my dick wet is centipede but sugoi-_-desu. It's just hard to crank your shaft slowly as the spin adds up in the beginning. Just stroking it faster, gripping harder as it makes its way to 80,000. When it finally reached it you miami vice grips your balls and tug to keep yourself from enjoying nirvana. You can't go you though because the song has just begun. As your eyes roll back from the visualizations and your left index finger plunges into your tight asshole. When the notes begin to blossom you know it's time to turn that finger into a fist but first you slather your arm in vaseline and light your candles because it's about to be your birthday and you need something to blow out. As soon as you see the first tetris blocks fall you start pushing your fist I to your ass on beat with the music and when that section ends you know you're almost there. With your arm elbow deep, hand fondling the little bit of dignity you have deep inside you, you get ready for the end. You can barely tell what's going on because your body is convulsing from all the stimulus as you reach the end of the song but you can make out the combo which read 6000. At this point everything goes white then black. You wake up covered in manhood, the candles have been tipped over and there's a fire engulfing your computer. You make a wish and blow the fire out but that's just for show because you know your wish has already come true.
And that's why I think that map is the best. Here's a link to it https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/150945#osu/372245 |

Re: Best Maps For Osu!Mania Thread.
Finding -good- charts is the biggest barrier for me to playing games like Etterna/Osumania/Quaver and why I've stuck with FFR for so long. It was less of a problem back when there weren't actually all that many relevant keyboard packs but now it's just overwhelming.
I don't have the patience or frankly the hard drive space to be all "download all these packs" and maybe you'll find one or two charts in the pack that you'll actually enjoy. I don't have the patience to go through a list of what the community considers good charts. And then I still have to find the packs they're in or download them or both. I don't want to have to sift through millions of anime songs/packs that I'm not going to enjoy on the off chance I find one chart that I do actually like. Why do all that when I can easily load up a semi-"curated" list of over 2500 files that each have at least some level of quality control |

the kinds of rhythm gamers still playing ffr/stepmania are probably not going to cross over into osu!mania and probably wouldn't know much about what makes a map "good" |

Re: Best Maps For Osu!Mania Thread.
Not exactly contingent to this thread (I can give maps that I think best encapsulate the archetypal o!m "style"), but I can definitely write up a giant post on the differences between o!m charting and EO/FFR charting tomorrow if people are interested. Given, there are a ton of o!m charting circles, but there's an eclectic group of circles in EO as well, and people would only pick out a few circles from the EO community and generalise it to the entire community. There's always this bad-faith assumption in most rhythm game circles that o!m is filled with bland anime charts and rhythmgamecore, and while there is some veracity behind that notion, it only represents one of many circles in the community (unfortunately the largest at one point, might still be but I doubt it). That generalisation is as bad and frankly worthless as saying that all SM charts are nonsensical dumps or something along those lines.
The differences between some notable o!m charting circles and SM/FFR charting circles aren't as drastic as you'd expect. Otherwise, charters from the o!m community wouldn't be getting as much traction as they would here or in SM. |
