an idea I've been thinking about for a game

It'd be another all blue game.

Basically, when players sign up, they would choose characters from a certain fictional universe (I'm thinking DC comics or Marvel in particular) on a first come first serve basis and they would be assigned a blue power based on who they chose. I would do my best to pick fair powers for all of the characters as well.

For example, Superman is basically invincible. If someone were to choose him, I would nerf his powers for the sake of fairness. I wouldn't allow him a blue power which represents his strength, his ability to fly, his speed, and his invulnerability. I would pick one of those powers and assign a blue power that fits. For example, I might assign one player in game to be in possesion of kryptonite and Superman can only be killed if that person supports it (as in a lynch), or if the wolves find the person and kill that person to steal the kryptonite (in the situation of the person with kryptonite being human and the wolves try to attack Superman), or simply a wolf would need to be in ownership of it to wolf him.

In short, just because the character you'd choose would be overpowered, that doesn't mean that your blue power would be as well.

The wolves would be chosen differently as well. Every player would choose their fictional identity and their powers would be assigned. Only after that would I pick the wolves (probbaly being 3 wolves plus a mark, making 4), meaning that just because someone would have a power that would be more helpful as a blue doesn't mean they're not red. This also means that there could be a guardian who is red.

Also, I'm thinking I'd only tell the person themself what their power is. It would be pretty terrible if everyone knew who the guardian was, because the wolves would just pick them off. So yeah. Everyone would know that everyone has a power, and everyone would know which character everyone else is, but no one would know the individual powers.

Ok, I think I covered things fairly well... Any holes in this idea?

Maybe later, next game I seriously don't want more than 3 blues...there have just been way too many blues in the last two games.

How about trying to create the blue roles first (to balance as well as possible) and assigning them to superheros that can be chosen at signups?

When people sign up, rather then they pick the superhero from thier own mind just have them pick from a list.

As far as what you actually include, go with anything you like, just try and make the blues not blues like coroner (I.E. so powerful you have to create another huge power for the opposite team.)

That's my two cents.

I thought about that iggy, but I wouldn't want people signing up as certain characters just so that they'd be guaranteed that power.

Or do you mean come up with a list of characters they can choose from with predetermined powers that are all fair? That would work, I suppose. I'd probably want to work with Tass (assuming he wouldn't be playing) or something to get a fair list of 16 or so powers.

I dunno... I still wanna hear more of what you guys think before I decide for sure if I'll do it and how I'd want to do it if I get it hashed out fully.

EDIT:

Yes that's what I meant.

Roles should be split into two parts. Like a seer that chooses a person but someone else receives the host PM. Or two seers that can only seer someone if they pick the same person.

Something to make it so there aren't a lot of powerful blues running around.

The idea that I had which this is based on is pretty much ready to go, I just have to run by the idea by someone who can think up thinks that I haven't already to ensure a completely fair game.

So tokzic and fojar, get your ideas posted rather than just saying you have an idea and want to host.

Let the twg thread find the errors because no one will probably come to you to look at them.

Re: an idea I've been thinking about for a game

i dont want to host for a couple games, unless nobody else is hosting, which is why i havent posted my idea yet.
