I'm loving this engine already.

I do have a question though, can anybody else load ULTRABEATDOWN SUPREME? It gets stuck at 0% for me.

Re: FFRMania Engine: 1500+ songs and counting!

Pretty sure PrawnSkunk is renaming some things in the xml and FTP .. I'll get him to come in here and say something

Edit - He's not touching anything..He think's it is due to length, but i've played with length restriction before and it plays til around 8 mins - On legacy. On R^3 there should be no problems.

Edit 2 - The file is 2 mb .. Should be 17 mb roughly. Conversion error. It'll get fixed.

level_NBJ3_UltraBeatdownSupreme.swf has a size of 2.1 MB. This should be around 15~25 MB, so there was obviously an error in conversion. We'll take a closer look at this one :) Thanks!

Re: FFRMania Engine: 1500+ songs and counting!

Seems that the songs that aren't loading have either a lot of freezes in the original file or lots of erratic bpm changes. Wondering if that might be part of the issue?

Tarrik has re-uploaded Maid of Fire to the Legacy genre. Legacy will now become the home for single-upload files not attached to any Packs currently on the engine. :)

All songs from Tarrik's legacy engine in the Secret genre were purged yesterday, as they all had an offset of -4 to be properly calibrated to the legacy engine. All* songs on FFRMania should now be on sync (using your regular FFR offset).

Clear your engines and reload and replace the FFRMania xml.

Red Sign and Death Moon [Edit] should be loading.

Moulin Rouge has had the .swf replaced and is the correct file i believe.

I removed the scarhand file at the top of the genre and the correct one is the one at the bottom. I will get around to changing the difficulties of the files eventually.

Unless you intend on making a Maid of Fire [GAMMA] chart, the stepfile in the engine is the Maid of Fire [oni] we have all grown to know and love. :)

inb4 foxfire shames me. Indeed SSFFRC converted the [Heavy] version for whatever reason. We will see to this...

Late reply so oops.

But what you're doing is offering SM files with almost none of the intricacies left in tact. Ossa files lose all of their charm. Rogdor files lose all of their charm. Any file with gimmicks becomes just a standard chart. All theory, besides color theory, is literally lost in translation. Do you think files like Moches' Toki, Rogdor's Born This Way, or my Bridgeport Run play the same on FFR as they do on SM? The answer is no.

That's why some of us are kinda mad at this. A lot of these files were made with SM in mind. I just hope that people will download SM and play these files like they were meant to be played.

At the same time the idea for a lot of us using this engine is "Oh I've ALREADY PLAYED THESE ALL ON STEPMANIA MANY TIMES" So now I'm taking the work I did on SM, and with the charts I've more or less learned I'm much more comfortably able to transition to FFR where quite frankly I have more fun than on SM, to me, and many others who already play SM lots, this is a godsend and we fucking love it. Also for the sake of genre bias and for the sake of lower difficulties I suggested SulferDragons Astronomic Metal Collection 1-2 as they're great on SM, and great for lower leveled players who want to learn some of the harder patterns as they climb their way up in skill.

It's going to be a bit of a pain to play through the files we don't know difficulty off by heart and then accurately rate them though..

Yeah, thats the thing :/

Tarrik 11-8-2013 03:16 PM

Re: FFRMania Engine: 1500+ songs and counting!

We would need a lot of people to go through and write the file and the difficulty (1-15) that they believe is correct and we could then go through and take a look..?

Wouldn't want a bunch of spam posts for like 1 or 2 songs though haha

SK8R43 11-8-2013 03:18 PM

Re: FFRMania Engine: 1500+ songs and counting!

Im not sure if 1-15 WOULD work though. since alot of them would be 14-15 anyways but yeah thats what we would need to do for sure. Makes it faster at least

1-20 ffr system

Here we go max. Time to actually respond to this..

We explicitly agreed to stick with the original relative difficulties provided by each pack. This is not something that will be changed in the foreseeable future for an array of painfully obvious reasons.

Would you rather we spend our energy to re-assess with deadly precision (so as to not generate a single difficulty complaint) every god damn file, or spend that time actually uploading content?

As it is, several people are already upset enough at how we are "taking away" from the charts.

Tarrik 11-8-2013 03:25 PM

Re: FFRMania Engine: 1500+ songs and counting!

Prawn has a valid point. There's alot we still need to do and we also want to release more packs. Difficulties COULD recieve an overhaul...but He's right, we have other things that need to be done for now unfortunately. I AM for new difficulties though guys, don't get me wrong.

You're saying right here that difficulty is a subjective thing and involves playing the charts anyways...I don't understand the need for an accurate number value when it comes to difficulty. To me I know how hard a file is by how well I can score on it. The number is more of a book cover and doesn't do more than give expectation before sightreading the chart.

The biggest reason is obviously that the difficulty scale would probably stretch from 1-250 or something and this would be ridiculous amounts of work. It's funny how exponential the increase in difficulty is when going from 90 to 96 compared to 15 and 21 for instance. The scaling will never be perfect alas :p

EDIT: I also added Destiny GAMMA, hi19 made that.
Also One More Cutie is made by 0, not Spitfire. Everything else is correct

- Chronon
- Requiem (Fullmetal Alchemist Movie)
- CirnoRHTL
- Yuriyurararara Yuru Yuri Daijken (Yuru Yuri (2011))
- Universal Mind (Liquid Tension Experiment I)

As for Momiji, I have no clue. I'm fairly sure the other ones not loading are from the .swf being corrupted. They'll get fixed..

Yeah for me like half of ODIpack 1 is 3 seconds early arrows.
A search for glory, momiji ranbu, power plant... and then some like burly brawl are also early but not by as much

Added. I put those files with the hsmp selections (aside from RainbowDash's OP, which is from the SonicRainboom Pack). Put that with the other single files for now.
