Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. (DS)

So, I was looking into this game. I am a Resident Evil fan. I have every Resident Evil game for the Gamecube and Dreamcast, so I was thinking "why buy this game?".

Its the original Resident Evil Released for the Playstation (which I don't have) supped up for the DS. There is "Classic mode" and the "Rebirth mode". Classic mode meaning it's just the original Resident Evil almost identical to the Playstation version and Rebirth mode meaning added stuffs to suit the touch screen. For example, you'd use the stylus to solve certain puzzles and use the stylus as a knife for some zombie encounters. Also in Rebirth mode the game is more about the action as you are given more ammo and more Zombies. Oh and the zombies can follow you everywhere, they've learned how to use doors.

Now I have the remake for the first Resident Evil for the Gamecube and that was absolutely awesome. So I thought that the only thing going for it to me was the "Rebirth mode". I was surprised. I bought this game from play.com for £17.99 which IS cheap. I thought "yea I'll give it ago for £17.99, If I don't like it I could sell it for more than that second hand anyway". I LOVE this game.

The graphics are good considering how much is crammed into the game. The story never gets old. The added features are awesome, stylus fights are so much fun and the puzzles are much funnier. There are loads of extra's to obtain, like new weapons and costumes to unlock, much like the other Resi games. The mulitplayer is awesome, playing co op in the mansion is a new experience and so much fun (I showed my friend this and he bought it too). The mulitplayer battle (in which you are given a door to reach before the other player) is fun and always very challenging, as no matter how ahead you are there are always things in your way, to which, your rival just goes "YEA GOOD LUCK WITH THAT LATER!!". You do have to put up with you partner/rival appearing on your screen as a star but it isn't that bad. Now, I've saved the best till last. This game has ALL THE ORIGINAL VOICE ACTING AND CUT SCENES!! They are so unbelievable bad it's hilarious. Here see for yourself.

I am very pleased with this game, I'd say a must have for Resident Evil fans. Even if your new to Resident Evil this game won't let you down. My personal rating for this game would be a 8/10. There are one or two problems though. The controls do seem more tankish than usual, even for a Resident Evil game. The game can be quite short depending on how well you play the game (I've completed Resident Evil numerous times before). Those aside though, this game does deliver numerous hours of fun.

Edit: Sorry its quite essay like. If you've read all this (Thank you for your time) please leave your thought and opinions.

I love the RE series and my DS hasn't been getting much use lately. I'll look into this when I see it.

Deadly Silence? What? They must be running low on clever titles or something.

Hahahaha. Well they couldn't call it "Resident Evil: Another Remake" really. To be honest I don't think its that bad a name though, It does suit the game.
