Limited Blanket permission to use Bolivard's songs. Great artist. Not sure if we have permission to use all of his songs yet but will discuss it with him further and post an update.

He's listed as Jonny Atma in this list and there is no trace of the original permission post, so considering he's gone by GaMetal for years now I figured it'd be prudent to ask for permission again.
Here it is:

Obtained limited permissions to use anything on the Peel album by The Orange Constant. Contemporary Rock band, and the album was just released a little over a month ago. Might be a nice place if you ever liked instruments like organ/piano mixed with guitar.

Re: Permissions List and Information v8

Bumping this thread because I just realized that my Gamechops label permissions thread got rolled back in that website rollback, so it no longer exists.

Official guideline on Gamechops permission:

Code:

Any GameChops release that appears on iTunes, Spotify, or other music platforms has been licensed and is available for use in videos, podcasts, and streams.
Use requires attribution: you must give credit to the producer and/or GameChops. When possible, we appreciate it if creators provide a link to our music video, smarturl, or website.

Summarized, everything is blanket permission as long as it appears on iTunes, Spotify, or some other music platform that sells/distributes music (such as Bandcamp, etc).

Massive video game music & remix label, similar to OCRemix. As well as lot of the same content authors, like Ben Briggs, or Smooth Mcgroove.

Was originally going to update the thread that got rolled back with the info in code, because this changes current permission from 'purchasing the music' from the place for perms, and just being freely available for use.

Their website: https://gamechops.com/
YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDV...YUQfgA05CkyFSg
Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/gamechops
Bandcamp: https://music.gamechops.com/
iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/g...ps/id559949042

Edit: Silent permission update, since nothing has changed in the permission, just a re-location of permissions on their website & screenshot:

Re: Permissions List and Information v8

Update to OverClocked ReMix permissions after studying their ToS on Content Policies.

Bolded parts are what is important/need to be read.

Can review it here: https://ocremix.org/info/Content_Policy#Terms_of_Use

Quote:

OverClocked ReMix grants all parties a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, universal license to use, redistribute, incorporate into other works, and publicly perform OverClocked ReMixes as long as the following criteria are met:

A.) No profit is made from the exercise of this license. This includes but is not limited to incorporation of OverClocked ReMixes into commercial works, charging or accepting more than the cost of the delivery means or medium(s) for redistributing OverClocked ReMixes, accepting donations and/or offering "Name Your Own Price" options for OverClocked ReMixes, or redistributing OverClocked ReMixes in the context of commercial advertisements. Playback or live performance of OverClocked ReMixes may occur in commercial contexts such as streams, videos, stores, private clubs, or gatherings, so long as no cost is explicitly associated with listening to them and no endorsement of the commercial entity by OverClocked ReMix can be inferred.

B.) If OverClocked ReMixes are being redistributed, performed, or incorporated into other works, materials used must be clearly attributed both to the ReMixer(s) who created them and to OverClocked ReMix. This accreditation must be in the form of the ReMixer name(s) followed by "OverClocked ReMix (http://ocremix.org)". In applicable contexts where user interactivity is possible, such as websites, the site name and URL must be linked to http://ocremix.org. Accreditation must be presented as close to the utilized material as possible; if OverClocked ReMixes are used in a video, accreditation must be included in credits at the end, but if displayed on a website, accreditation must be prominently displayed in context with the utilized material. In the case of public or semi-public performances where accreditation is not reasonable, responding to audience inquiries with this information will suffice.

C.) If OverClocked ReMixes are being redistributed, they may not be modified in any way from the MP3 versions made available on http://ocremix.org. This includes but is not limited to any modifications to ID3 tagging. Modifications for personal use not involving redistribution, such as burning personal mix CDs or reformatting files for other devices, is acceptable.

OverClocked ReMix reserves the right to terminate this license at any time. In such instances, if OverClocked ReMixes have been incorporated into other works or are being redistributed or performed, the original artist must be contacted to obtain a separate license for the material in question, and all references and attribution to OverClocked ReMix must be removed. OverClocked ReMix maintains sole control of the distribution of materials under its name, as designated by "OC ReMix" in track titles, the "OC_ReMix" file suffix, or other indicators clearly establishing attribution of works to OverClocked ReMix. OverClocked ReMix in no way indemnifies those utilizing OverClocked ReMixes from legal action on the part of third party copyright holders.
Rule C of the ToS does not apply to FFR, as it is not a redistributor. Content from FFR is not made freely available to download, so we more closely fall under playback involving content incorporated into another work.

Current pre-existing OcReMix permissions as of this post take priority over this permission update, as those permissions involved contacting artists from OcReMix separately. This permission update ONLY INVOLVES content from OcReMix that is not listed in the original label permissions before this post, and should be treated as separate licenses.

tl;dr involving ReMix music content OUTSIDE OF CURRENT ReMix PERMISSIONS (remixes on their website but not listed in this permissions thread), we have permission for them, as long as we stay non-profit, and attribute as "<Remixer's name>, OverClocked ReMix (http://www.ocremix.org/)". It can be something else in-game due to limitations of user interactivity, like the Remixer's name only, linking to ocremix.org, but it must be accredited this way on the website in junction with the associated content.

millstones perms. Basically anything on his Youtube that doesn't have vocals is fair to use. Someone should step Clockwork Dragon for the 100+ batch.

Quick update on:
Quote:

DM Ashura [ Techno ] : Contact Tass beforehand
So I talked to Tass during his July 30, 2020 stream. What I got from this was:
- permission was obtained from him because Tass knew DM Ashura and used to talk to him on AIM/AOL messenger. No email or physical verification exists.
- from Tass's personal communications, DM Ashura listed a few songs that he was NOT comfortable for FFR to use, and they all were related to remixes he did and not his original songs. Concerns mainly permissions on some of the sampling he used for those songs.
- DM Ashura has been very supportive of FFR in the past, so it would be worth asking again to clarify permission.
- Tass has not talked to DM Ashura in a while. "Contact Tass beforehand" therefore no longer applies.

Might be worth including with BMSofFighters 'open source' permission, to avoid another long 2-day discussion on validity of 'open source' permissions in the future.

Stuff sent into BMSofFighters isn't necessarily free to use via copyright, but it requires that the file uploaded can be redistributed by pretty much everyone without changes. It's still being discussed and trying to reach out to see what others think about BMS music and its validity in permissions as a whole.

Managed to get Emile Pandolfi's blanket permission to use his song recordings for FFR! Check out his 30 second samples here! He has awesome music that falls closer to mainstream which can improve current song variety and FFR popularity :)

Re: Permissions List and Information v8

Posting so it's known that I allow permission for songs I've created to be in FFR on a case-by-case basis. Basically, ask me first and it'll most likely be fine.

I don't have anything posted so anyone who steps my stuff will have to get the mp3 directly from me anyways. Currently the only person I know of (excluding me) that is stepping something I've made is T-Force.
