Recommend me your scariest, most disturbing games
 

I've already played the Penumbra, Amnesia, Silent Hill, and F.E.A.R. series, so those are out of the way.

But even so, I'm trying to make a big list of stuff to play to see which games freak me out the most.

Anything you guys have played that might fit the bill?

Bunch of Indi horror games you can try out on Gamejolt, too many for me to name. Just look for highly rated ones, those seem to be the scarier ones.

Oh yeah, here's my $0.02: SCP Containment Breach
go have nightmares now.

Containment Breach is pretty good. Multiple endings too so thats a plus. Outlast isn't bad but everyone knows what its all about. Alien Isolation is cool. When the AI isn't fucking around it will outsmart you. Lots of indie games like that list is way too long. Never-ending Nightmares, Among the Sleep, Monstrum, Anna, FEAR.

I'm all about alternate/conceptual horror, have some unconventional titles I can remember:

.flow (RPG Maker, Yume Nikki spinoff)
Covetous (Short flash game, a true gem in horror game design)
Scratches (Worth it for its atmosphere)

The Condemned franchise was fun a fuckton for what it's worth, as was Dead Space. +1 Fatal Frame.

Cry of Fear. It's only available on Steam, but it's a free download. It's really good.

Trying Cry of Fear for the moment.

I installed SCP but so far it's just a bunch of dark stuff, can't see much of anything. Nothing scary yet.

I don't really have a game that's overall scary in mind atm, but I do know that some of the freakiest easter eggs/hidden secrets I've found to be in Game Boy Camera. They typically occur when you get error messages relating to camera operations.
