loud megaphone release

if for some reason clicking the banner doesn't work: https://mega.nz/#!iZZ2VCpR!4Dt2VmQVS...eG-1yl-Wwe7psU

My third pack. Can be considered as a love letter to older charting, with technical accuracy and minimal structuring making out the best that can be made out of the music.

Files:

Files are mostly easy by modern standards, but should be considerably challenging for newer players. Mostly made with accuracy in mind, but most are rateable if that's what you enjoy more.

Big thanks to:
Autotelic for helping with QA, the harder difficulty for Universal Collapse and providing the fantastic set for Hotel Moonside.
April for giving a brief but helpful set of notes for LIMBO
Jellyfish for the Universal Collapse gfx set
Author who didn't want to be named for Clapping Music
Foxfire for playing a lot of these files on stream
Anyone else who helped even slightly
You
And of course a big thanks to the song authors for making these songs, and the original background artists (that were highly difficult to source)

If you're interested in listening to more works from any of the artists I've filled a .txt file inside the pack with links to their artist accounts that could be found.
Also there's an extra banner if you really don't like pink or want to know where the pack name actually originated from

Re: loud megaphone release

Understanding Stepcharters and most of all, Respecting them

Lately I've been noticing this dangerous trend where people refuse to play anything from people they don't recognize. I understand this partly because you really don't know what level of delivery this person is capable of. On the other hand, just trying their stepfile and using a few minutes of your life to subject yourself to playing it is enough. They were willing to spend some time to publish a file for You, the players. It's only fair that you spare them some time as well. It can go a long way.

As for respect goes, it's best to stay quiet if you don't have anything constructive to say. There's absolutely no need to be offensive. You might as well not play the file if you're incapable of giving proper feedback. Again, this person, published a file/pack they had been working on for a finite time, using their own time. Be fair.

Don't like a file? Then don't play it. Judging a file based solely on your feelings at the moment of playing is a very poor way of judging anything. Give it another go. Try to understand it. Maybe you will, maybe you won't. Maybe it's too "boring" for your tastes. That's fine, but keep it at that.

There are a billion factors that could make a file "boring". There's also the occasional "fun" word being used. Both of these are mostly buzzwords that have absolutely nothing to do with the chart itself, but rather how the player feels about it at the moment. Again this is mostly fine, but from a judging perspective both of these points are useless. They don't really offer a good answer with substance, and often require a lot of explaining to really make out what these two feelings could come from. So, using them in a crutch situation is fine, but you should also be able to specify what exactly inherits these emotions.

And as a last paraphrase I might as well give my apologies to DourGent and other people I might've been rude to in the past. I often don't have much time to check on files as I don't really play the game outside of my own files, but if you do want me to check on some packs you can just dm me on discord (riktoi#5093 I think you need to add me first). I'll do my best to provide proper feedback.

I appreciate the apology, thank you, but gonna be honest, I'm used to that mentality about me. There's more than enough reason to think that way given I've released what, 5(?) utterly shit packs in a row before actually doing anything note-worthy. (And even then, I've only got 2 packs i would consider okay, and 1 that's actually good, hardly a good balance to go by). That also goes hand in hand with the fact I'm often very matter-of-fact about stuff even when I shouldn't be and it's entirely opinions.

Either way, I appreciate the apology, and will extend one out to you too:

Apologies for the shitty half-hearted feedback I gave in foxes stream a while ago. Writing what amounts to "file is bad because its bad" was hardly actual feedback, and for extending the discussion into an argument with no rhyme or reason.

anyway.

EDIT: I would like to mention the same invitation riktoi gave can be extended to me too. You'll need to add me since im not really in any sm servers persay, but i am willing to take a look at files if you want feedback. My discord is #DourGent9610
