Obama already promised to veto SOPA, so no worries.

It'll still be mad-depressing if it passes the House/Senate. Money talks. :/

Not to mention that they could try again later on in the hopes that we forget, or worse, tacking it onto the end of another bill.

I am not even sure if it'll make it to vote. The contents still require a drastic overhaul before it's going to experience anything other than violent retaliation.

I just think it's sick that the older generations are so out of touch with things and yet they still wield so much money and power.

Just take a look at who supports SOPA.

Also what about it doesn't make sense?

Two reasons (that I can think of).

1) For some reason, a lot of younger people seem to think that their vote won't count, or don't vote because they just don't care.

2) The baby boomer generation. Old folks outnumber us 1.5 to 1.

Therefore, all the old people who don't know how that fancy shiny newfangled series of tubes seems to work will vote how they feel is right, regardless of their level of ignorance. The younger people, who have a large portion within their demographic who either refuse to vote out of meekness or apathy, don't have their voice heard.

To put things back on topic, I'm not really worried at all about SOPA passing. Freaking Google stepped up to the plate, so now even the most ignorant folks living under the darkest dampest rocks will know about the issue. What I want to know is what you guys think about the OPEN act? Personally, I wouldn't be too angry if it passes, but my own opinion is that the internet and the laws that govern it do not need reform.
