Charlo's Metal Simfiles
Since everybody seems to be doing it, I figured I would make a thread for my own files. If you are into SERIOUSLY HEAVY MUSIC or have an UNQUENCHABLE DESIRE TO BANG YOUR HEAD then you would be well served to continue reading. If you are a poser or poser sympathizer, just traipse on back to the latest "J-pop vs. K-pop???" or "Check out my new MLP fanart!!! xD" threads. Posers are strictly verboten. Only true metal battle-fiends are permitted to download these files. I actually found a way around vBulletin's admin controls so, no joke, I can ban any poser who dares to step into this thread. You can only beg for leniency when I crush your life. I've been stepping strictly metal since 2006, getting my start after playing Skorpion9x's seminal Emerald Sword file. In the intervening years I have unleashed over 340 files of seething riff rituals and arrow atrocities. Most of the files here are power metal, but recently there's been more representation for the extreme genres of metal i.e. black, death, thrash. You can get a good breakdown of the genre distrubution at http://charlo.gamemakersgarage.com/stepmania/genres.php. If you're not familiar with my files, I'll give you a quick rundown: there's a lot of sixteenth note runs. Especially in the early files. Later files feature more of the same, but with jumps thrown in. So while my 2006-2008 output is indexable, anything past that isn't really. But does anybody still play index? I've divided this pack into seventeen parts, each containing 20 files. If you'd like, you can pick and choose which parts you want to download, since they're not all part of one zip or anything like that. If a particular file on this list captures your attention, all of my files can be downloaded individually at http://charlo.gamemakersgarage.com/stepmania/. More packs are released as I finish more files; the first release of my metal files was only seven packs. Here's the download links: Pack 17 (NEW!): [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 16: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 15: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 14: [Zippyshare] [Stepmania Online] [Mediafire] Pack 13: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 12: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 11: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 10: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 9: [Zippyshare] [Stepmania Online] [Mediafire] Pack 8: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 7: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 6: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 5: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 4: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 3: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 2: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] Pack 1: [Zippyshare] [Mediafire] All of my packs can also be downloaded at stepmaniaonline.net. Tell me what you think! I know the FFR crowd is generally tougher to please than the average Stepmaniac, so if you want to trash my files, insult my GFX and reference my poor character as a person, you can go right ahead. The song list can be found in the next post. |
Re: Charlo's Metal Simfiles

Re: Charlo's Metal Simfiles
Part 12 just saw the murky light of day this morning, Hallowe'en day of all days. Unknowable terrors await those who dare to download this pack of 20 heavy metal simfiles. Symphony X, Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, Stratovarius, Deeds Of Flesh, plus many more bands who craft fine metal music for our ears. I present them to you cautiously my friend...tread carefully when entering the jagged land of metal.

Re: Charlo's Metal Simfiles
Mediafire has marked some of my packs as "copyrighted files", meaning nobody except me can download them. I have re-uploaded the first six packs on DepositFiles and would appreciate it if somebody else could mirror them on mediafire. Suggestions for high-speed filehosts would be welcome too; DepositFiles sucks.
As always stay heavy and keep headbanging! |
Re: Charlo's Metal Simfiles
Part 13 of my hugenormous metal simfile collection is now ready to be downloaded, played, and enjoyed. In that order. If you are tired of endless anime and video game files, and you just want some different background music to smash your arrows to, you must not delay in downloading this most recent installment. I can assure you that this...this "pack 13" as it is called...will bring you fulfillment and joy in your otherwise miserable life. I guarantee it.
I no longer host these things on Mediafire since they just get flagged for copyright violation. Zippyshare seems to be working well so far, but if anybody has a suggestion for another file host that offers good speed, let me know! |
Re: Charlo's Metal Simfiles

Re: Charlo's Metal Simfiles
Love your work Charlo, your files are the reason I started Stepmania, and probably the reason I'm still playing today. :-D

Re: Charlo's Metal Simfiles
Okay FFRians, I just finished part 14. It contains 20 files. 20 files. That's as many as two tens. And that's terrible. You can download it, in all its terrific splendor, right here: http://www4.zippyshare.com/v/12859835/file.html
I need to tell you something before you download this pack of files. It contains more metal than one person can reasonably consume in one sitting. Listen up: in this .zip file, there's Symphony X, Alestorm, Rhapsody, Kamelot, Cannibal Corpse, Bal-Sagoth, Luca Turilli, and a multitude of additional heavy metal artists. Roughly one-and-a-half hours of total aural demolition. I mean, holy dumb fuck. These aren't two-minute anime themes. There is a very real risk that you will die if you play all these files in a row. I'm going to give you the download link again, just in case you missed it. http://www4.zippyshare.com/v/12859835/file.html If you didn't click it the second time, something is seriously wrong with you. You may want to get your head checked. But first, take a look at the song list: Code:
