Biomechanics of Drumming (carries over to Index)

This will explain what's happening in your muscles when you drum. There's huge carryover so this will also apply to index playing. These are the muscles in your forearm. There's a lot of them and they're tiny. The brachioradialis makes up a huge percentage of your forearm: This is why you can have really developed muscles for this activity, but really tiny forearms. This is what the muscles actually do, for the most part: http://articleadvocates.com/ArticleA...play.cfm/19492 Since index and drumming use similar muscles, there's a lot of muscular carryover and explaining one should explain the other -- especially since drumming emphasizes more muscles than index, but the same muscles index uses. |
