Also Selanne outta nowhere Washington: Rolled over philly for 1st seed in east, maybe it's their year now that ovechkin is putting up numbers again Boston: Probably best goaltender in da league. Very balanced team but don't create much offense. Idk we'll see. NOPE TEAMS Pittsburgh: nope. no crosby, no cinderella run Phoenix: Go back to winnipeg plz Los Angeles: hahahahah when have they ever won anything Buffalo: as much as I want them to do good this year, I don't see it happening New York: Barely made the playoffs, they'd have to pull a miracle outta their asses |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
My post won't count for creds, but I might as well post my predictions.
Also, much appreciated for the full board Kommi, but we're only going by the round in question. So once the Semis come around, a new pick will happen. It's kind of like the NHL picks done earlier. PS. Going by your picks, Anaheim would play Vancouver and SJ would face Detroit. Anyway: EASTERN CONFERENCE 1. Washington Capitals vs. 8. New York Rangers 2. Philadelphia Flyers vs. 7. Buffalo Sabres 3. Boston Bruins vs. 6. Montreal Canadiens 4. Pittsburgh Penguins vs. 5. Tampa Bay Lightning -=- WESTERN CONFERENCE 1. Vancouver Canucks vs. 8. Chicago Blackhawks 2. San Jose Sharks vs. 7. Los Angeles Kings 3. Detroit Red Wings vs. 6. Phoenix Coyotes 4. Anaheim Ducks vs. 5. Nashville Predators Also: Quote:

And a Montreal-Vancouver final would probably be the greatest thing for two reasons: The Cup comes back to Canada, and Gary Bettman will suffer a heart attack and die. But, I actually want to see a Buffalo-Vancouver final. Both teams came into the league at the same time, both celebrating their 40th anniversary, both have made it to the finals a couple times but have yet to win. That and Luongo vs. Miller rounds 3-6 (and maybe 7, 8, 9) would be a goalie duel for the ages. Finally, Quote:

Watching the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals game atm, really good saves by both goaltenders, while both teams are playing very well. o_o'' |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Alright, updated OP with day 1's results. That Vancouver-Chicago game was a great game. Not surprising from those two.
Rangers and Cap was surprisingly low-scoring.. Tampa Bay shut out by Pittsburgh, wut? Preds rolling over the Ducks. Perfect. Wings over the Coyotes? I think we all saw that coming. |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Man Rinne is gonna be the difference in that series, dont think ellis and emery can get her done

canucks need to not do like last year after winning the opener.
|
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Well... disappointment in Philly. Pronger is definitely going to be missed unless he comes back soon.
Good job by the Habs to strike early in the series. And as I post this, a tie in the Southwest promising a good series between the Ducks and Sharks. |

|
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Truer words were never spoken. =')
- Vancouver... nothing more needs to be said. Game 2 hump? Not anymore. - Tampa shows Pittsburgh a little revenge. Good job by them. - Washington and New York continue to show why they're probably the most BORING series in these playoffs... 40 shots from both teams combined? Was there a nap in the 2nd period or something? - Anaheim also gets a little revenge on Nashville. Interesting series going on. |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
habs ftw
|
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
So this philly game is pretty nuts, 6 goals, 1 fight, 1 disallowed goal, 1 reviewed goal in the first period. not to mention countless penalty minutes
|
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
In today's daily recap:
- Holy power plays... 10 minors for Buffalo? And yet Philly can only convert once. But that was enough making this a bit more interesting. - And once again, penalties were flying in Hockeytown. Coyotes almost pulled off the upset, but the Wings set the bar too high. - F*** YEAH HABS! Back to Montreal with a 2-0 lead? Although don't count out the Bruins just yet. - I said it before: If Jon Quick can stand on his head, the Kings will win. Tonight proved it. |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Double post, but time for the recap.
- NYR/WAS: HOLY CRAP SOMEONE CAN ACTUALLY SCORE IN THIS SERIES! I think the MSG fans were just as shocked as us as the Rangers claw back to within one in front of the hometown crowd. Either someone needs to win on the road, or this'll be an easy guess. - NAS/ANA: Early start by Nashville, the ageless wonder nets a pair in a minute, but Nashville rolls along and finishes it off halfway through the 3rd thanks to Mr. Carrie Underwood with his 3rd goal of these playoffs. - CHI/VAN: Early start by the Hawks doesn't keep Vancouver's power play down. And even though the refs had Hawks jerseys on, none were brave enough to block a shot as Vancouver gets 2 in a minute. Chi-town storms back on another power play, but 6 minutes into the 3rd, Mikael Samuelsson (any existing Kings fans will know that name well) finishes her off. Get your brooms ready, we might have a sweep. |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
I'm glad Raffi Torres didn't get suspended again for Vancouver. He plays diiiiirrrrrty haha. I hope Montreal can give Boston a well deserved sweep ;)
|
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Dirty? Pshhtt. That was a clean hit. Seabrook was leaning for the puck, Torres' elbow was in, and bam. Yes, headshot, but Seabrook took that risk. However, Kunitz NEEDS to be suspended for that elbow to the head of Gagne.. which brings me to.
DAILY RECAP: - MON/BOS: Unlike the Caps and Rangers, this is all about the road team as Tim Thomas and the Bruins build a lead and manage to hold on. What was Carey Price thinking on that 3rd goal... - BUF/PHI: Another early goal dictates the game as Carter scores 5 minutes in and Philly rolls. Fun stuff. Did anyone catch Hartnell messing with the Buffalo fans? Look at all those middle fingers! Probably the same amount of fingers as Hartnell's age (Happy Birthday, Caveman). Although Big demotion for Bobrovsky as he's not even the backup. - TBL/PIT: Ugh.. wow... This game was dirty... Downie's charging shot, Kunitz' elbow... This series won't end in the hospital, but the graveyard. Oh, and the Penguins won. - PHX/DET: Phoenix is victimized by the early start again and Detroit rolls to a 3-0 series lead. I think we all saw this one coming. |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
I'm probably the only one watching this, but I've been following the world women's hockey tournament in Zurich.
Canada 5-0 Sweden Canada 12-0 Switzerland Canada 7-0 Kazakhstan Going against finland next for a bye to the semifinals Shots on Goal Canada 19 Switzerland 67 omg... |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Uhhhh... I'm pretty sure Canada would've outshot the Swiss... especially if they won 12-0. If that shot total is correct, it means the Swiss made all of 7 saves.
Either way, Canadian women cannot be beat at hockey (except '98. Hush). We're awesome like that. B] |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
It definitely means shots on switzerlands goalie 67, shots on canadas goalie 19 lol
|
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Women won 2-0 against finland. damn their goaltender is balls good lmao
Haven't been watching the men's hockey but they're dominating as well. I'm watching the Vancouver game tonight, should be awesome |

FYI: The Sabres will win tomorrow... mainly because i'll be there.

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Anyone else loving this Sharks Kings game?
start of 2nd period, Kings up 4-0. end of 2nd period, game tied 5-5. what a game so far! edit: SHARKS WIN 6-5 IN OVERTIME!! LEAD SERIES 2-1 |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Quote:
RECAP: - LAK/SJS: Talk about a Miracle on Machester reversed. Sharks come back in a big way to reclaim the lead in this series. - CHI/VAN: In 4 words: F*** YOU DAVE BOLLAND! Only cleared to play this morning, and turns in a 4 point all while making the Sedins' night a living hell. Put away your brooms (at least until tomorrow), Chicago is still kicking. Also, Luongo was not at fault for anything tonight. Every one of those goals were fantastic (as much as I hate to admit it). Big day tomorrow. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Softies, eh? Funny. Bieksa wasn't the one with blood on his face.
Funny as well... Kane was the one who ducked a couple hits... Anyway, RE-CAP! - NYR/WAS: Holy quick goals. And goals. Period. Not to mention, another blown lead? Washington is starting to pull away. And with a chance to clinch at home? This will be interesting. - TBL/PIT: Yet another close game, but those friggin' Pens... Also, 2 OTs it took for both Washington and Pittsburgh. Makes me wonder how either would do in 4... Anyway. Pittsburgh's in the same boat as Washignton. A chance to finish it at home. - BUF/PHI: Hey LD, how was it? A mirror image of game one you say? Except the teams had different coloured uniforms on? Shocking! Also, we can also conclude the same thing people did in the Dallas/Vancouver series of 2006: If Philadelphia scores, they'll win. - NAS/ANA: Yet again, Anaheim continues to fight winning by a large margin again. But Nashville won't be going down without a fight. Stick around, cause this one's going to 6. And finally, the last game. - PHX/DET: GET YOUR BROOMS READY CAUSE DETROIT HAS FINISHED THE SWEEP. So long Phoenix. The only bad thing about this is Shane Doan still can't taste any postseason success at all. Out the the 12 participants this round, the record is: 9-3. To all those who picked Phoenix: Kick yourselves. |

DAILY RE-CAP (tad early).
- MTL/BOS: Wow... Montreal led 3 times. How do you not close it? Also horrible change by Subban. They outplayed Boston by a mile today, but no finish from the Habs. We're going back to Boston with a tie. - VAN/CHI: Absolute embarrassment. We're going back to Chicago for a 6th game. What a complete role reversal from the two teams. Ever since Seabrook got knocked out, Vancouver's held back while Chicago's dominated. This is getting interesting. - LAK/SJS: And San Jose blows it wide open riding a wave of momentum. Sounding victory over the Kings. Not much else to say about tonight... It sucked. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
Quote:
It doesn't matter who steps up in the playoffs with the Sharks, San Jose has too much depth for that to be an issue. Last season, Little Joe (Pavelski) came up big, and this year Clowe's done an outstanding job. We have the big Marleau-Thornton-Heatley line, but there's the underrated 2nd and 3rd lines we have as well, which is what is destroying LA. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
San Jose has a great offense, I agree, but I have don't trust Niemi or Nittymaki as a goalie. Neither proved anything (Niemi really isn't the reason Chicago won last year) and I think that this is the biggest problem for the Sharks.
|
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
REALLY LATE DAILY RE-CAP:
- PHI/BUF: Oooooh, and Tyler Ennis spoils this one (I got a FANTASTIC text from my friend about that) and we're goig back to Buffalo WITH BUFFALO HOLDING THE SERIES LEAD (again)! - ANA/NAS: If you get 4 goals, you win. This seems to be the case in this series where the winning team scores 4+ and the losers get 3 (exception being game 1). Nashville continues this back and forth trend and goes into their home building with a 3-2 lead. |

Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
I've been anxious since game 1.
Double re-cap because work's been busy. FRIDAY: - PIT/TB: HA! Pittsburgh got wrecked. Hi Steven Stamkos, welcome to the playoffs. However Pittsburgh has had lots of luck in Tampa this round so it'll be interesting. - WAS/NYR: Na, na, na, na, hey hey hey, good byeeeeeeeeeee. And that Caps advance! Out the the 12 participants this round, the record is: 11-1. Way to go, Varley, you win absolutely nada for this. -BOS/MON: It's the nail-biter round. 2 straight OTs, and both times Beantown takes it. Can the Habs bounce back again? Fingers crossed.. - SJS/LAK: Hi Jon Quick, is your head red from all that blood rushing to it because of all that time spent standing on your head? I have nothing to say except way to go, Niemi. You effed up. SATURDAY: - BUF/PHI: VILLEDELPHIA!!! We're going to game 7 thanks to an OT victory. Nail-biters all around! - NAS/ANA: Congratulations Barry Trotz, you finally have playoff success. Anaheim gets knocked out, and the Preds move on. Out the the 12 participants this round, the record is: 4-8. Guess a lot of people weren't expected this "upset". - CHI/VAN: I know I'm going to get called on this, but Chi-town did NOT deserve this win. Either way, hello game 7. The might be one of the best comebacks ever, or not. Either way, strap in tight. Also, I updated the OP with the updated standings for both the series' as well as the leaderboard. Only one perfect record still. Guess who. ;D And seeing as I can't win credits, no one will be getting the bonus this round. |
Re: NHL Playoffs Predictions (Credit Giveaway)
only three teams have ever made it back from a 3-0 game deficit. this aught to be interesting
i'm hoping the bruins are able to make it to the finals, as they're favored to win apparently. It's been a while and they do deserve it. Nashville would be interesting as well. |
Re: elliptical bike
Boston is a favourite, but I'm not ready for Beantown to raise the Cup just yet. Guaranteed though, game 7 will be playing on my TV.
