tHE rULES (break these and get ded u feel me? lmao):
- All files must be unreleased.
- Song length can be as long or short as you want.
- You can include as many difficulties as you want.
- Files can be super easy, super hard, nostalgic, artsy fartsy, etc, so long as they are well made (correct BPM so they stay on beat, no ghost notes).
- No Touhou music (remixes or otherwise) or H-Game music.
- Remixes are allowed (of course they are u freakin dingus).
- No rhythymyhm game musixXx, omg
- No rolls. Mines are fine though, so have fun u stank nuggets.
- All files WILL have cdtitles and graphics, so if you lack them, we can provide them. Backgrounds are 800x600/1280x720 and banners are 512x160.

What's the overall difficulty of the pack that we're shooting for? I recall the first three being rather tame because they were made in a simpler time. Similarly, I noticed a jump between CKMP 1-3 and the fourth installment. So I'm wondering if this pack is going to be in line with its predecessors or if it's going to meet modern standards of technicality and difficulty. I'm thinking the latter, but with all the old-school steppers I'm seeing in this thread, maybe I'll get lucky and get a mix?

only CKMP 1 and 2 were official; the others just kinda took the name. ~the more you know~

also I personally found that the simfiles got progressively tougher in the VGMP series.

The overall difficulty is whatever gets stepped and gets accepted. If it's good, it's good, regardless of how hard. So definitely expect a mix! :D

I have a situation with something that I do want to chart: it's a song that isn't specifically named in the game and is used for multiple levels (a pretty common issue with older Crash Bandicoot games, unfortunately). How should I title it?

Most BGM's are generic by nature. They have to be, the focus in a video game is the playing part. The BGM is just there to set the mood and nothing else.

But interesting BGM's are out there.

I actually have to agree in vgmp1-2 there were some mediocre song choices, vgmp3 was awesome, though. At this point in time i guess vgmp4 will just be da bomb ;D

This entire OST is pretty decent for stepping; obviously you'll have to click around on it, but this song especially is great. Might need a cut because the repeated portion might make the file get boring

Not trying to double post but VGMP3 was probably the best of the 3.. if you haven't played that one download it and try it. literally everything about it was better imo. better song choice, less generic steps, and overall the files were much more fun
