Hiccup [160 BPM]
- Updated 32nd triplets to not be cameljacks/tight minijack triplets (3 frames apart on the 16th to 4th)
- Updated the 32nd roll near the end to have a smoother/consistent transition with the frames. The reversing of the roll pattern forces a minijack on the two adjacent 32nds a 16th apart, so that stayed 3 frames apart.

Unfortunately didn't have an opportunity to get to the other three in this post yet, but I did get to tackle Hiccup.

So I got a new laptop and I've got some other stuff to sort out this week, but if there are other requests feel free to leave them here -- the three remaining ones are very involved and I'll give more priority to looking at more recent files with requested changes indicated.

It's kind of a coin flip if the minijacks are 2-framers or 3-framers throughout the whole file, I assume that's just a symptom of BPM/conversion and probably applies to all the 16ths in the file, although they appear to crop up most frequently in the first minijack of a section.

example:
note 318: the first jack in this section is early. (link)

but the most score-breaking thing is the 3 rainbow hands which definitely should not be rainbow hands :P

There are also two grace notes that got snapped to the 8th / 16th, but I think they're natural enough and would probably be hit as a jump anyway by players. The locations of those are at 566 and 1144.

Question: Can we request frame fixes here for charts in the accepted queue but aren't released yet?

I would venture having it prematurely might be of benefit.

In theory this might sound like a good idea, but in practice it's not something that would work out.

We can only see when a chart has problems after it has been converted, so a chart in the accepted queue might not be scheduled for release yet and we can't say whether it has conversion issues or not -- and different types of files will have varying levels of frame placement issues (e.g. an easier file with 192nd placements that convert as 1 frame gallops instead of jumps, or harder file with tight minijacks at an uneven speed).

Also thanks for the request rushyrulz -- that might be something I get to later in the week.

Does that mean that the view chart feature for the submitted charts in the batches aren't accurate? They seemed accurate every time I've looked at it.

Most of the time the conversion should be similar if not the same, but it's not always the case; there have been times where I've converted the file outside of the batch submission area and I saw discrepancies.

Now what could happen is that the stepartist looks at how their chart converted in the batch submission area, and if they notice placements that are off then they can mention it to the GMs to take a look -- it at least gives a good idea of what conversion might look like outside of the batch submission area. This would be up to the stepartist to catch it first though, but it can be a new process I can discuss with staff.

Let's Get Crunk [160 BPM]
- Removed 2 frame minijacks
- Updated 64ths to be grace notes

Heya, for MEGA MEGA CUTiE, can you possibly fix the ending wall?

Re: Frame Fix Log

I don't think that wall is fixable in the sense that it shouldn't have a 2 frame gap at some point. At 220bpm there's going to be an additional frame gap approximately every 22 16th notes and the wall duration is longer than that. I suppose you could force the gap at the start of a new roll instead of in the middle of one, but since the gap is already luckily occurring between hands I don't think that would ultimately impact playability much.

This is correct. It looks like the 32nd gaps already are 1 frame apart on each hand, but there's inevitably a place where there will be that shift. One possibility would be shifting the 16th and its corresponding 32nd one frame up so the 2 frame gap happens to the next 4th note.

Unless there's something else in the chart that needs to be fixed, this will probably be a pass.

Retiring this thread as Velocity has been taking on a project to convert 90+ difficulty files ingame to ms timing.
