Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
I can't do it either. I've tried making dubstep just to confirm whether it's the faceroll I've always made it out to be, and it is/isn't depending on how you see it. Composing it is faceroll indeed, but making it sound good requires some skill ;>

Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
But you can make... metal-step!
(actually you should make this please, lfo'd guitars shredding up the place to a generic 1/3 kick snare pattern... fuck yeah!) |
Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
datsa gr9 idear
edit: unless you mean something like xi-on's stuff (example 1, example 2) in which case I've tried making stuff like that but haven't quite pulled it off at a level where I'm satisfied with the result yet. edit2: we're totally hijacking this thread with bullshit right now so let's continue the discussion on skype or something. also, the answer is most definitely no as I still think this is a terrible idea :p |
Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
no im serious :(
hit me up and lets try this out because you can obviously make the guitars hit the same spectrum as wobbles (midrange "wubs", a bass guitar as the low-end "sub-bass", and a lead guitar as your "high-end") and i dont think an lfo'd guitar would sound too bad, if it does just make give it a repetitive "trill" pattern. Doesn't hurt to experiment at least. Doesnt have to be 140 bpm either but the drums should retain that 1-3 pattern. |
Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
loldrone test
written in 5 minutes. I think it's like 10BPM or something, can't remember what I set the value to. |
Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
asked c6 (chat room) for a tempo and eze said 175bpm... here's what I got so far:

Probably the last version before I release this.
https://soundcloud.com/assertivefluttershy/almostdonewip-zedd-clarity/s-JQ3II Soundcloud messes up the quality a bit, so if you want to listen to an untouched 320 mp3, here you go: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/83159410/cla...20done%202.mp3 |

Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
that sounds pretty good tbh, better than your la lune remake. dunno if that's because of the composition or if it's because you've gotten better at the program, but whatever, it sounds better either way. the sudden silence really put me off though, dunno if that sounds all that great
ps try n106 instead of vrc6. it has some rather annoying limitations (static, something you should be used to by now since you've been using lsdj, is one of them) but is definitely worth it in the long run. seriously, stereo sound on a nes? 13 channels? seriously! |
Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
but that'd mean getting used to a whole new tracker lol
|
Re: Music Works In Progress Thread
Edit: yo megamon, intro to your new remix is so catchy
