You've definitely missed some of it then.

I rolled with the files on hand, I could moving forward hold off on doing OTs until we have perfect file lineups but no one wants that either. Thing is I've adjusted over and over again just for more complaints so *shrugs* no matter what someone is unhappy.

I really hope that what I was saying earlier didn't come off as disrespectful. If so, apologies!

Just figured I'd bring up the idea of constant improvement to avoid stagnation.

Something something people keep leaving :/

People leaving has nothing to do with the OTs though.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who used to love what this site once was who want to see activity and well run tournaments. I would love to be in a position to run a tournament with all new content for the community, but you built up such a wall around this glorious title of "Tournament Organizer" locking yourself into running it alone and then when people complain about very evident problems, you just say we should be appreciative? Valid criticism should be taken as a sign that people still care about a properly run tournament being fun and fair. I know many people have offered to help with official tournaments, but since you tie so much of your own personal and emotional worth staked on how much power you hold over this dumb website, nobody is willing to go through the shit they have to to contribute anything. You've made it abundantly clear numerous times that you hold 100% of the power and decision making over this tournament but when a file like Circle Pit is very poorly slotted it's suddenly AJ's fault for giving you the rating so you say go talk to AJ? You absolve yourself of blame on a very regular basis. Mistakes happen, nobody is perfect, own up to it for once or admit that you don't do as much as you claim to do. If you were willing to address the areas that you aren't completely comfortable with doing, which is fine, people would be able to step in and make the tournament as a whole a lot funner and cleaner.

This site is never going to be what it once was because of how poorly run it currently is and your refusal to accept help from anybody competent.

I think that's a bit harsh, it's one thing to say "please take constructive feedback" and it's another to "throw the baby out with the bath water" and say FFR can never return to some lost glory days because of a few blips during and OT. Seemed to me to go quite smoothly, and one or two songs out of place isn't ruining the entire site or something.

I think you should keed that kind of comment to yourself or private message the aporopriate person, because this was just harsh.I think Kayla and AJ are the heart of FFR and deserve respect. If you really want to help FFR join the staff.

This post is hilarious and I love how you only ever come out of the woodwork to talk nasty about me.

1. Yep, we'd all love to see it at it's former glory, me running tournaments is hardly the reason for any decline in the site. Blame the almost year long downtime then lack of progression that followed for quite some time because a lot of things COULDN'T happen.

2. Really? You'd love to be in my position? Go ahead then and do it lmao. I don't have a "tournament organizer" title. Please name all these people who have offered to help, I'll wait. And then tell me how many actually have when I'm like okay come help.

3. Complain about very evident problems, well lets see half of them were "I'm mad cause I'm bad at the file" complaints. Some are just beating a dead horse of a mistake we realized we made. Guess what, at the end of the day we're all still human. There's no way to 100% perfect this, especially with how much players are changing. We're adapting as fast as we can.

4. Yeah, I do think people should be more appreciative of all the time and effort people put in to keeping FFR alive. We could have all easily walked away when synth was gone for a decade, instead we did our best to try to keep it going and the community engaged. It becomes less and less worth it the more people sit here and badger us over simple things.

5. Aj rated circle pit a 72 initially, so yeah he took the blame on it himself. I didn't shove it off on him. I love how you took me taking the blame for some of the early stuff as me making it clear I had 100% of power. So you're mad at me for not taking blame when I was taking blame, lol. I mean just admit what this really is, you've never liked me and you're going to always twist anything I do into a negative.

6. Admit I don't do as much as I claim to do? What?

7. Refusal to accept help from anybody competent? Hmm so you mean because we didn't put Rob back on difficulties right? Cause that wasn't just my decision. I tried getting more judges, people fell off quickly that did apply (not that there were many to begin with). You talk so much crap but literally have no idea how many times I've tried to get help, only for the people to get their title then do absolutely nothing, or be here for a short while then poof away.

What's even funnier is I left for like a year? Year and a half? I can't remember. And nobody stepped up, nothing was getting done. Someone could've run an OT, nobody did. You also seem to forget I haven't run all of them and the complaints have still flown when others ran them. Do you even remember all the super old tournaments and how those used to go? Lol, there's been HUGE improvements but everyone wants to harp on the negative rather than try to make a positive experience, and THAT is what's going to kill things. Stop trying to push off all the blame on me as if I'm the downfall of the site when I've put in countless hours at this point just trying to scrape by and keep it as active as I could with what I'm capable of.

Yikes. My intention wasn't to be harsh, it was to get a point across that has been building over this community for many years now. It's clear nothing changes every single year because somehow the same problems keep coming up. I'm not trying to shit all over Kayla, I'm truly not. It's just evident that staff roles are being gate kept and only people they like are allowed to help. I'm definitely not alone in thinking this as I've been DM'd by MULTIPLE people thanking me for posting what I did. It's been like 20 minutes or something.. The community is clearly frustrated and every single attempt at criticism is met with "you're just ungrateful" or "I guess I can stop doing tournaments" but nobody is asking for this, they're asking for problem areas to be addressed.

In regards to the second statement of yours, Kayla has made it very clear how she feels about me over the years. I would love nothing more than to help. I know with certainty she would never "allow" me to be on staff.

Okay lol hold up here, I've made it clear how I feel about you? no no no, I'm not standing for this one this time. You're the one who came after me because someone got banned over something, you harassed me on my social medias and even went out of your way to say I should kill myself in the C6 chat.
I'm not about to sit here for this, no way. You've been nothing but negative towards me all the time.

@ bolded comment: lol, ok

@ everything else -- I love how you're actually trying to speak for me as if it wasn't my fault. I took the blame because I was helping with estimations and putting things in place, and I made a mistake marking the file. I was tasked with trying to at least give estimations for things and I legitimately felt like the difficulty for the file wasn't as high as it was perceived by the community. But hey, if someone makes a mistake, it's alright for you to conveniently pounce on it as a measure of any claims of partiality. Anything to cling to make any sort of point.

Hey, if you don't wanna derail the thread I would love to talk on discord :*

Kayla, we both know we you aren't going to take anything I say to heart. I'm not going to respond to every single point of yours because you can't see past your own bias but what I will say that I am my own person with my own ability to form an opinion. Seems like we both want the same thing, a better site. I'm not going to name names because it's clear people know better than to start shit because this is how you are. It results in exactly this lmfao. Don't sit there and pretend you would have actually allowed me to help you in any way shape or form, I have offered a long long time ago and you made it clear I wasn't a welcome presence. It is what it is and honestly since this website is in the state it's in, don't lose sleep over it.

Re: 13th Official Tournament

Despite my earlier criticisms mentioned in the thread (which I still stand by), the official tournament was still a ton of fun. :) Coming back from hiatus really forced me to rebuild the skills I once had and balancing that with real-life duties was a fun but stressful challenge. The competition was extremely fierce and I had a ton of fun overall.

Thanks to all of the organizers and the stepartists for their contributions! I know that it isn't easy to organize a tournament and how producing many charts can be a very time-consuming process, so your time and effort really made the overall experience fun to be a part of. It reminds me of my nostalgic days when I used to be extremely competitive, so thank you for reminding me how fun FFR is and how great the community is.

Thank you to my D6 competitors for making the challenge exciting and fun. A small handful of you guys recently got D7 status, so although I don't see myself competing with you guys in the future, I hope that you continue to do well and have a ton of fun in future OTs. I hope to see the rest of you and some potential D5 current players in the next OT :)

Congrats to all of the winners! Thanks again everyone!

Congrats to all winners and participants! This was a fun and intense OT. I experienced a lot of stress during round 5 as I was constantly playing to get into the top 8 and I had to wait to see what scores other competitors got.
