It seems like the MP ranking system is pretty well explained here. It tells about how MP experience is gained, lost, calculated, how much to the next level, etc.

If you wanted to keep the same ranking system, it could just be a more complex demonstration of this...as an example:
4 people are in a game room, a level 12, a 7, a 13, and an 15 and they all play the song, Cash Cow. Lets say the 15 AAA'd, the 12 got 2 goods, and 13 got 5 goods, and the 7 got 14 goods. This would mean the scorers would go as follows: 7, 13, 12, 15

Then loss / win factors could be calculated between the 4th and 3rd, 3rd and 2nd, and 2nd and 1st place:
4th place loses 50*.6 = 30 exp
3rd place gains 30 exp; then loses 110*.95 = 104.5 exp (-74.5 total)
2nd place gains 104.5 exp; then loses 80*.9 = 72 exp (+32.5 total)
1st place gains 72 exp

The same thing can be done with any amount of players, just a bit more math coding.

The only problem I see with the automatic selection of the opponents song is if you don't have the song. Say your opponent clicks Planet Karma and you don't have enough credits, what would happen?

That would be coded in to not happen, don't worry. (It's rather easy to do.)

That's why it should be a button, so you get a chance to say "I doesn't has" before it tries to load a song you don't have.

Goes hand in hand with the 'unpick' button

Sort of like SMO has? I've played SMO like, twice but I was watching Frankie the other day and it was pretty much "here's my pick, [indicator, your opponent doesn't have this], okay, new song" and you didn't have to reload or anything, it just let you deselect it.

Engine Update, Metal noteskin.

The legacy engine was also updated, just some small changes along with getting ready for some MP updates.

It's nice. I wouldn't use it for regular play, but it helps in some spots for Party 4u but makes it worse in others. Might be worth a few shots to clean up.

I mean, unless I missed some update that orbular actually means the arrows are pointing the opposite direction.

I was going to post that glitch a few days ago lol: If you start a song with a long intro with, say orbular noteskin, then switch to regular ffr noteskin, the top arrows will stay orbular but the arrows coming up will be regular. lol.
