Why have grid and default party frames both up?

It was my first raid with it, give me a break. I spent much of the raid configuring Grid. In fact, I had the normal UI raid frames up until I was finally comfortable with Grid. As soon as I figure out how to disable the normal party members from the screen, I will.

Re: World of Warcraft

I had a really good haul in the first half of Naxx-25 yesterday, where I did 3200 DPS average.

Today I did 4200 DPS, ranking above the other Rogue in my guild who is better geared than me.

I also discovered that itemization is screwy and if I were to equip a certain 1.30 speed blue instead of the "best dagger in the game" which is 1.80 speed and currently equipped in my main hand, my DPS will increase significantly.

asdf

Can't wait to raid Monday, should be interesting to see what my numbers end up being.

They really need to fix poison procs so that haste + 1.3 dagger speed doesn't proc a 600 instant poison so much to out dps anarchy.

Are you using a mutilate spec?

edit: they also need to fix vanish. It has literally failed 100% of the time in pvp.

I think it's interesting that they've basically ignored that. One of my friends who's ranked as a top rogue on the server was yelling about that earlier, because he could start stealthed and people would see him, or he'd vanish and they'd hit him out of it.

he thinks that Honor Among Thieves is what's causing it.

Re: World of Warcraft

I don't have that talent and it still does it. They just need to makes rogues invincible while vanish is in effect. Or (cannot be brought out of stealth until vanish fades)

Re: World of Warcraft

Took a while, but I got into a naxx-25 run.

We got through Arachnid and Plague and 2/3 of the way through Military. Had problems on the usual suspects: Heigan and the Instructor.

Every other boss dropped caster mail, and there were no other shamans. Currently sitting on Quivering Tunic, Bands of Mutual Respect, Corpse Scarab Handguards, and Legguards of the Undisturbed wondering if they're better or worse than what I have.

Update: Ran a pug VH after naxx and despite the tank being terrible, we got to the end and I finally got my Mark of the War Prisoner.

I don't know if the tanks these days are just bad or I just do too much damage. I even give them a few seconds to start and I pull aggro almost every time. Not in raids, of course, but it happens often in pugs.

Also did 2,700 dps in VH. 2nd was 1,700.

Edit 2: Tested my most efficient self-buffed DPS on the heroic dummy using this new gear, and I peak at 3,400 and average 3k. Self-buffed. Also, I can finally get rid of the short shorts that looked incredibly stupid! These new pants actually match the chest, which is hard to believe considering it's blue and brown. The gloves match too.

There are tons of DK's. Private servers suck ass btw...it's not really a whole lot of fun to basically walk your way though raids. Unless the server is balanced well such as the real WoW server...it's basically easy mode.

the server i play on is called WoWgasm....they have a true blizz-like server, 1x rates, 1x drops.

I got a level 27 Warrior dwarf on Blood Furnace. The only computer that is close to handling WoW is my laptop, and its Vista with 1Gb of RAM, so I needed to play on a low-population server. :(

Ahh well. Add me to that list anyway. The name of my character is Slad.

Try nerfing your video settings and turn off Vertical Sync. It only takes 1GB on XP to run WoW at full settings completely maxed out in every possible way...in Vista a few hundred more MB at most. Minimal settings probably only use 500MB or RAM, 750MB AT MOST with Vista. Since it's a laptop...I'm assuming it has a crappy card, or it has integrate graphics...sorry I just really really really enjoy correcting this stuff T_T.

I play on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with only 1 GB of RAM and an integrated graphics card with no problem. You just need to put your graphic settings at half of below. I usually have all of them except view distance and spell detail. (I like to see the spells :D) And it runs perfectly fine on a High/Medium realm, Ghostlands. Also, I usually have youtube, tweetdeck (for twitter), and seamonkey (my e-mail client) in the background. Also I have WoW in windowed mode. So you shouldn't have to be confined to low population servers.

Windows 7
4 GB DDR2 800 RAM
BFG GeForce 7600GT
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600

And I can't run WoW at any more than lowest settings and still keep 60fps even in the most sparsely populated areas. I can get around 30 if I bump the settings to one higher than lowest

Thanks for beating me to it.

I'm on a quad core, but integrated graphics.

Need a power supply and video card!

Would you say a Pally would be a good first class? I'm making Syhto play with me.

Re: World of Warcraft

Really depends on how you like to play.. since you haven't it may be best to experiment. My first toon was a priest that I still play.. not exactly the easiest class to level but I learned a lot really fast.

ps say hi to syhto in-game for me

pps tiem 4 update I have a new pair of gloves for when I hit 73 (hopefully tomorrow). I'm still a newfag in Northrend. What I get for canceling my subscription right after Lich King came out and my entire guild leveled together. Now I'm stuck pugging with groups of Death Knights.

!!!!!
[Lvl 1 health]

965 unbuffed.
1115 with Rumsy rum.
3014 with buffs [mark, kings, fort, imp(lvl 80, improved)]

devonin 02-22-2009 11:20 AM

Re: World of Warcraft

Having a level 80 improved imp in the party hanging around is rather meaningless in terms of "oh man check out how beefy my level one is"

Are you really complaining about keeping 60fps? I wanna hurt you. I'm lucky to stay at 12 fps let alone 60. I'd keel over in amazement if I had that.

If I don't have 30 fps or greater, I can't tell anything that's going on. Even at 30 I struggle. Apparently it's got something to do with my eyesight (according to my parents, since my entire family sans me needs glasses), but I don't know exactly what the problem is called.
