Re: Sweeping anti-gay legislation soon to become law in North Carolina
It's also worth noting the terrifying speed with which this bill progressed through the various stages. According to Blue Nation Review, the time from proposition to McCrory's signature was LESS THAN TEN HOURS. Contrast this with the Republicans dragging their feet on stuff like passing a federal budget or confirming a new Supreme Court justice.

Bump because the saga continues. They're actually gutting the disaster relief fund so they can keep fighting this, to the tune of half a million bucks.

Well if people die due to insufficiencies in the disaster relief budget, at least they won't be going to hell for supporting transsexuals!

because that is a pretty sweeping statement and either way it puts you squarely on the wrong side of history, then and now. |
Re: Sweeping anti-gay legislation soon to become law in North Carolina
guess i shouldnt sweep so wide because obviously im not for segregating skin color
but i am for bathrooms to be segregated by sex, you know like the rest of the sane world does |
Re: Sweeping anti-gay legislation soon to become law in North Carolina
states rights is usually a last resort for people who have no actual argument btw.

Re: Sweeping anti-gay legislation soon to become law in North Carolina
Possibly related: The 4th Circuit Court, which has jurisdiction over NC, has ruled that a Virginia transgender high school student cannot be required to use the gender-neutral bathrooms, as doing so violates Title IX. And Gov. McCrory has said he will abide by it.
So that's that argument going up in smoke. |

Re: Sweeping anti-gay legislation soon to become law in North Carolina
oh i definitely acknowledge transgenders who think they are the other of the two genders. the only two in existence
and yes title ix is bullshit, it cut my university's mens soccer and baseball team right before i went to baseball's open tryouts. now we have women's basketball and women's soccer that dont draw a crowd. the supply didnt meet the demand so title ix skewered it and tons of girls at my school are pissed, they dont want to go to women's games either |
Re: Sweeping anti-gay legislation soon to become law in North Carolina
I'm having a very difficult time finding any scientific evidence that supports the claim that transgenderism is a thing, in fact I can only find the opposite. I'm all for respecting people but I find it troubling that the 40% of those who are transgender, wish they had never had post op. I'm aware that post op transgenders are actually in the minority, but if the science available isn't clear, (maybe it is although i struggle to find any) isn't it sort of a moral issue when we allow possibly mentally ill people to willingly mutilate their bodies? Just a random thought
