I also hate around 80% of movie adaptations. :[
Only good ones are LOTR, and they are so good they take up 20% of all movies :]

As for Twilight, thoroughly enjoyed it. Very good, captivating.

Edward + Bella ftw!

Skru u Jacob

so are you a eunuch or what

because you're the first person with a penis i've met to not hate this book

they made better movies than books though

honestly i appreciate that the guy founded the fantasy world as we know it but the books are just dull

something's wrong with you when your battles threaten to put the reader in a coma

OH WAIT I'M OFF TOPIC

what kind of name is "bella swan" anyway, the only thing worse and more blindingly obvious would be to name your character "pretty girl"

I may be biased, I don't know, but I don't think there is anything wrong with the name Bella (which is short for Isabella, a perfectly good name) Swan.

And guess what! Guys DO read Twilight. And like it.
Just look at this site, which I find really funny: http://www.twilightguy.com/

"Bella" is an obvious play on "Belle" which means beautiful. "Swan" is an obvious nod towards the animal, which are too often used as a symbol for - you guessed it - beauty. It's a ridiculous, cheesy name, and from what I've read in and heard about the book, it's Stephanie Meyer's wannabe persona which she executes no control over and ceaselessly attracts every single character in the book towards her. Fantasize somewhere else. I can't believe hacks like her strike it rich when skilled writers can go their entire lives without being noticed.

Also, the fact that that dude enjoys the books doesn't surprise me, as he talks like a complete twit.

I think it's a creative name. Then again, when I was 6, I wrote a story about Ang Gree, an small Asian man with an explosive temper that could shoot lava from his fingers when he was agitated or riled.

PS: It's not a creative name.

Re: Anyone Else a Twilighter?

Vicious indictment, Tokzic!
I don't agree that Stephenie Meyer is a hack; she isn't the greatest writer in technical terms, and there are definately a lot of more-talented writers out there, but she created a really enjoyable and interesting plot line and characters. That's why the book has as many fans as it does.

I do agree that Bella's name is not creative, but it doesn't detract from how much I love the series.

P.S. I would love to read your story about Ang Gree, Mal. =]

Read it because I heard it was good.
I finished the series.
Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse.

Re: Anyone Else a Twilighter?

Unrelated except it's in Sarah's sig: LOVELY BONES MOVIE? WHY, GOD, WHY? Why are the greatest books always turned into movies that will turn out terrible?

Related: I learned about this series through Facebook. It seems like something I would have been into in Middle/High School. Now it sounds kind of... juvenile? But I can't judge. It's apparently huge and I like when people read.

Oh, to be six again.

[[My favorite part is when "everyone was in a big pool of being melted". It's a beautiful story. ;D]]

To the fans of Twilight: I was wondering, which book in the series is your favorite?

Mine is the first. Though it's a very close call.

Re: Anyone Else a Twilighter?

So I gave in to my curiosity and asked The Pirate Bay to give me the Twilight books, which it did. I just read a random 10 pages...the writing style is utterly dry, and the only thing the book has going for it is the mildly interesting plot. But even then, there's not much that interests me, at least. It's just a back-and-forth of awkwardness.

A Twilighter is a girl in their teens who finds unrealistic, poorly written vampire books intensely arousing, and loves to pretend that they are the unrealistic, poorly written protagonist who magically attracts every single male character in the book.

EDIT: oops ninjaed
