Re: Song Corrections Thread
In my defense, it would never need fixes if Xel did metadata correctly <3
fixed up to here. Don't have an answer for ya on that 2nd one jh, that's Velo territory, I let him know of it. |
Re: Song Corrections Thread
floating point should be all lowercase.
|
Re: Song Corrections Thread
"Pink Cloud " has an erroneous trailing space; it used to have " (feat. Max Collins)" at the end of its name and the space was left there when this got moved into the Artist field. The correct name should just be "Pink Cloud"
(This may be the most nitpicky correction ever) |
Re: Song Corrections Thread
parallel skydive should be all lowercase.

Curious as to how alias constency is approached, because sub/zero is by one of Kou!'s aliases (HYØUKA) if we don't wanna change it that is fine but the genre should at least be hi-tech psystyle instead of hi-tech hardcore

Re: Song Corrections Thread
Clocktown [Onefin & Stardew] [3625]'s genre is set to dance instead of dance 2 despite being diff 57

Fixed to here.

Re: Song Corrections Thread

Re: Song Corrections Thread
Real Ultimate Power displays the artist name as "DEV/NULL" in all caps, it can be changed to "Dev/Null" to stay consistent with other files. (The latter is the official capitalization, all caps was likely taken from the "LAZER THRASH" album cover.)

Re: Song Corrections Thread
Fixes made up to here. Stay tuned, I'm doing the difficulty tag / cut tag / full tags revamp tonight. Expect a post.

This is that update. So with that in-mind, a few discrepancies/exceptions to keep everything tidy: - Songs that are in-parts like "The Games We Played [Full Edition]" Will lose their [Full Edition] tag, and be just stated as-is. "[Part 1], [Part 2], etc." tags will stay, to keep the full version disambiguated from the parts. - Songs where the tag IS DIRECTLY IN THE TITLE will not be changed. For example, "Giselle (full act)" will remain as-is, included with its partner song "Giselle", since that is the literal song name and release of the full version, as-shown at https://soundcloud.com/sobrem/giselle-full Credits [Standard] and Credits [Heavy] will get their separate versions, but not Credits EX under this same rule. - I am implementing a "100-song release gap rule", where if a song has more than 1 version, are released within 100 songs of each other (in-terms of song ID's in the database), and those versions are DONE BY THE SAME STEPAUTHOR, then I will allow you to plead your case to swap versions ON YOUR SUBMISSIONS ONLY. It is up to the Stepauthor to prove that songs were submitted somewhere around the same time / released close enough together to warrant that versions are interchangeable. (bmah I'm looking at you). - Original releases (or first releases of the song) will not have a "v1". v2, v3, v4 etc. will be present in the song title. v0's will remain as v0's. v2, v3, etc. will be ordered by order of seniority of release into the game. - All songs with "Cut", "Full", "Long", "Short", and any of the difficulty tags are affected unless a rule in the above prevents it from being done. That being said, here's the list of affected changes: If I missed any, or wish to plead your case for your particular songs to have versions swapped, please post here / let me know. |
Re: Song Corrections Thread
Discussion developed in Discord chat wanting these changes to be reverted, so they have been reverted except for a couple of glaring errors, such as Step It [Light] => Step It because it's the only version of it in-game, same with Out of Sight, Out of Mind (8-Bit) [Standard] => Out of Sight, Out of Mind (8-Bit).
Policy In The Sky! v2 => Policy In The Sky! [Oni] but also, the original, Policy In The Sky! => Policy In The Sky! [Light] because it didn't have a tag to begin with. Stuff like that. |

Re: Song Corrections Thread
c-h-r-o-m-a should be written as Chroma, given that their homepage, Twitter, Youtube, etc. name themselves as "黒魔 / Chroma". I think c-h-r-o-m-a is just a username thing.
Similarly, Drumcorps should probably be written lowercase as drumcorps, although the usage is a little inconsistent. The stepauthor of the chart of (song name removed after the correction so that I don't see its name anymore) should be AnonStepper, not me. the real correction is to remove the chart altogether but that's not allowed |
Re: Song Corrections Thread
all good to here, maybe further discussion on drumcorps? What do others think?
|
Re: Song Corrections Thread
It seems as though in the case of drumcorps, the lowercase usage is present on pretty much all of his social media pages (his own website, Facebook, Instagram), as well as on images that he uses (like this image and ones on his website). The only place it seems as though he uses the capitalized version is on streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify and YouTube.
It seems as though the lowercase version is the more predominant, so I would tend to agree with using that name instead. |
Re: Song Corrections Thread
So I've been wondering for years where the word "firmament" and those quotation marks came from in 天空の城ヴェリエル and whether FFR should adopt a more popular name... and it was just right in the BGA written as firmament castle "velier".
Polis Ruin is missing a part of the actual title (天上のポリスルイン) and should be Tenjou no Polis Ruin, or Heavenly Polis Ruin. Though it's known as just Polis Ruin in Stepmania/Etterna and I'm not sure why. |
Re: Song Corrections Thread
So basically Engrish confirmed. I wouldn't revert it back to "firmament" but I can see why now that name was adopted in earlier files of the song.
