finally made a friend in the gym that will be lifting with me. i have no made the progress that i wanted to within the first year, but i started changing how i ate this year and have lost 12 pounds. down to 218. the lightest i've been since middle school

i finally got my squat form correct with barbell. was super happy about that today. i've been doing kettle bell squats instead since i couldn't do barbell correctly, but now that i've figured it out, i'll be able to do more 8)

So I've been cutting. Dropped 7lbs so far (7 weeks). First pic is kind of embarrassing and shows how badly I fell off with my dieting battling anxiety/depression. Happy to see where I am now. Looking to get a bit leaner, then start back at bulking. Much more strict this time, with more number crunching.

I'm so fucking mad that I stopped working out for such a long time. Hard to believe you and I were relatively the same size at one time, haha. Once my shoulder is 100% I'm definitely not going to stop again.

I'm planning to do one rep maxes again. Tomorrow will be squats and overhead press. Wednesday will be bench and deadlift. Goals are:

Squat: 335
Bench: 275
Dead: 405
Overhead: 205

I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get any of those. I'm currently running on 3.5 hrs of sleep, but I should be able to sleep well tonight.

Thanks for the compliments guys, but I hope you're not letting my progress demotivate you from posting your own pictures. Progress is progress, regardless of how you think you may look. Progress of any kind deserves recognition.

Also set a 10lbs PR tonight. 225lbs inclined bench @147lbs, RPE 8.5. Think I could do 235lbs or possibly 240lbs.

@kmay just remember, only 15% of america has gym memberships and 66% of those stop going after a couple of months. by even lifting you are the 5%

the gym was my 2014 resolution =]


and i think that statistic might be old or at least skewed. should be age ranges incorporated with that

It's funny that you should say that. It turns out, that was the only goal I may have reached. I say "may" because the rep was a little shaky.

I agree though. My overhead press is far beyond my other lifts.



Results:

Squat: 325 (I had some upward progress at 335 but couldn't get it)
Bench: 265 (I only have 255 on video. My 275 attempt was stupidly close and I am upset)
Dead: 345 (This lift can die. I did 335 for 7 reps about 2 weeks ago and I'm not sure what went wrong. I failed an attempt at 365 and decided to just quit.
Overhead: 205 (This was probably the hardest I've ever fought to finish a rep)

cons: comparably bad squat/DL

pro: your OHP is probably the highest on this board

other pro: your bench is alongside Reach's and SCWolf's ;)

highest bench ever on FFR was 460 by Senip, which would be extremely high even on /r/steroids, so doubt anyone's beating that any time soon. 315lb has yet to be reached by anyone else though iirc.

highest squat was also I think by Senip (~575) though I could be wrong about this one

dunno highest DL. hoping to crush everyone on this lift by winter and probably won't

Might have finally gotten the 275 lb bench press. I didn't pause at the bottom, so I'm not sure if it counts.
