B. PH of acetic acid
Two solutions of 0.1 mol/L and 0.01 mol/L acetic acid are available in several numbered flasks on which the concentration of acetic acid is not indicated. Obtain two 10 mL samples of each solution and place them in labelled test tubes. To the first test tube in each set add one drop of methyl orange, and to the second tube in each set add one drop of congo red.
By making reference to the colours of the known Hcl standard solutions, estimate the pH of each acetic acid solution and record this in an appropriate table.

Procedure: A. The indicators
Prepare two sets of five test tubes containing 10mL of the Hcl standard solutions. Label each tube with the appropriate concentration. To one set of the five tubes add one drop of the methyl orange indicator. Record your observations of the colours obtained in an appropriate table similar to the one shown.Save the solutions for later reference. Repeat the procedure using the second set of five tubes, this time adding a drop of congo red indicator to each tube.
Similarily prepare two sets of five test tubes by adding 10 mL of the NaOH standard solutions to labelled tubes . Add one drop of alizarin yellow to each of one set five tubes and one drop of indigo carmine to the second set. In an appropriate table, record the colour changes in each test tube. Save the solutions for later reference.
