Your keyboard is the standard QWERTY layout, most of them are.
In early mechanical typewriters the keys were in alphabetical order. With that layout people could type fast enough that sometimes the keys would bind up, so the QWERTY layout was made just to slow typists down, and it became common.
The layout I use is called Dvorak, and is specifically made for use with the English language. It's easier to learn and faster, more natural to type.
