Hello everyone! I'm pleased to announce the start of the second annual Playlist Curation Event RIGHT NOW! In this community event, you'll use the in-game playlist function to queue up 5 tracks of your choice and share them with others. Show your love for FFR by showcasing the best tracks in game for others to see. Then, play your fellow players' playlists for a chance to win shiny Event Tokens!

How to Participate

The theme for the event is: Create Your Own Tournament! Users will create a 5-track “mini tournament” for others to play, and the top three scorers of each “tournament” will be recorded for others to see! The event has two phases lasting a week each, and participating is easy:

Phase 1:
- Navigate to the Queue tool in-game.
- Queue up **5 Tracks** that fit the above theme.
- Export the queue and submit it using the form below.
- OPTIONAL give your playlist a name and a description to be shared with other users!
- See the below post for a visual guide on creating and exporting queues!

Phase 1 ends on Monday, November 9 , after which Phase 2 will begin. Make sure you submit your playlists by then!

Phase 2:
- On Monday 11/9, I will release all of the submitted playlists for you to try out!
- Import these into your game, try them out, and post a screenshot of your results to win prizes!
- More details will be shared when Phase 2 starts~

REWARDS:
- Submit at least 1 playlist: Drawing for 1 event token!
- Score in the top 3 of at least one other person's tournament: Drawing for another event token!
- Submit at least 1 playlist AND at least 3 scores on others' tournaments: GUARANTEED EVENT TOKEN!

How to Create a Playlist:
1. Navigate to a song you want and click "add to song queue"
2. Repeat until all songs are queued up
3. When finished, click Queue -> Save
4. Navigate to the queue manager: Queue -> Manager
5. Select your new playlist and click "Copy." This will add the contents of the playlist to your clipboard.
6. Paste the text string it gives you into the above form!

1. Installing Wine
Wine is a software that runs Windows-exclusive application.
It's best to enable and support 32-bit, which is included if available in the instructions below.

If you do know how to install Wine and enabling 32-bit, you can skip this.
You can also contribute if you have a Linux Distribution that isn't mentioned here.

1.1. Debian/Ubuntu Linux (apt)
To enable 32-bit:
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 && sudo apt update

To install Wine:
sudo apt install wine libwine:i386 wine32 libwine wine64 fonts-wine winetricks

1.2. Fedora Linux (dnf)
To install Wine:
sudo dnf check-update && sudo dnf install wine wine-mono winetricks

1.3. Arch Linux (pacman)
⚠️This involves editing a system file (/etc/pacman.conf)!⚠️

To enable 32-bit:
sudoedit /etc/pacman.conf

If [multilib] doesn't exists, manually type it out:
[multilib]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

Otherwise, remove the comments (Hashtags [#]).

To install Wine:
sudo pacman -Syy wine wine-mono winetricks

1.4. Void Linux [glibc variant] (xbps-install)
To enable 32-bit:
sudo xbps-install -S void-repo-multilib

To install Wine:
sudo xbps-install -S wine wine-32bit wine-mono winetricks

2. Downloading and installing Flash Flash Revolution
In the download section, either pick the latest version of normal or hybrid edition. (I will use the normal edition as an example)
Unzip that you just downloaded to any folder. For example, I put it in "~/Games/FlashFlashRevolution"

3. Launching Flash Flash Revolution
3.1. Terminal
To launch Flash Flash Revolution using a terminal emulator:
wine "~/Games/FlashFlashRevolution/R3.exe"

3.2. Desktop Application
To create a Desktop Application for Flash Flash Revolution, create a folder first:
mkdir -p "~/.local/share/applications"

Any text editor works, copy and paste this in "~/.local/share/applications" as "flashflashrevolution.desktop" and replace "[user]" to your username:
[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Name=Flash Flash Revolution
TryExec=wine
Exec=wine "/home/[user]/Games/FlashFlashRevolution/R3.exe"

3.3. Lutris
If you have Lutris installed:
  1. Click "+" button at the top left corner.
  2. Click "Add locally installed game".
  3. Set whatever you see as fit. (You can also enable Advanced option)
  4. Select "Runner" as "Wine (Runs Windows games)".
  5. Click "Save" at the top right corner. (If you didn't see it, don't make Lutris fullscreen)
4. Optimization
4.1. gamemode
NOTE: If you're having a hard time, check this out from the ArchWiki (It also works in any Linux Distribution) -> https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GameMode

If you have "gamemode" installed AND added as a group "gamemode", either run it in the terminal emulator or in any game launcher you installed:
gamemoderun wine "/home/[user]/Games/FlashFlashRevolution/R3.exe"

4.2. Disabling VSync
4.2.1. Flash Flash Revolution
Once you have logged into the game:
  1. Click "OPTIONS" at the top right corner.
  2. Click "Miscellaneous".
  3. Find and enable "VSync" in "Framerate:" section.

4.2.2. Terminal/Launcher
NOTE: You can always try this method if it doesn't work above or do both.

You can also either run it in the terminal emulator or in any game launcher you installed.

"vblank_mode" is an enviromental variable that either enable or disable VSync for both Intel and AMD.
"__GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK" is also an enviromental variable that either enable or disable VSync but only for NVIDIA.

To disable:
vblank_mode=0 wine "/home/[user]/Games/FlashFlashRevolution/R3.exe"

Or

__GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=0 wine "/home/[user]/Games/FlashFlashRevolution/R3.exe"

Or both, if you like to experiment

vblank_mode=0 __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=0 wine "/home/[user]/Games/FlashFlashRevolution/R3.exe"

You can also pair with "gamemoderun" like this:
vblank_mode=0 __GL_SYNC_TO_VBLANK=0 gamemoderun wine "/home/[user]/Games/FlashFlashRevolution/R3.exe"

4.3. Drivers
Make sure to install properly, maintain and keep your drivers up-to-date for Intel, AMD & NVIDIA.

NOTE: Make sure you install the correct package name as I depend it on ArchWiki!4.4. PipeWire
I recommend PipeWire more than PulseAudio. But if it just works for you, don't break it more (Unless you're an advanced Linux user).

4.5. X11 vs. Wayland
