My best advice to you new players...would be to increase the speed of the arrows...make a greater margin of space in between each arrow, so that you can focus more on each individual arrow while still keeping the beat/rhythm in mind. Not only does it allow you to see streams and jacks better...but it shows those 'hidden' off beat arrows that are color coded, but not in proper sequence. This will also let you see doubles->quads (jumps) in mid stream alot easier...but less time to react. Not only does this allow things to become more easily read for better accuracy, but in terms of peripheral visions...as you look into the middle of the screen (or in one spot) your brain works and functions quicker/better to speed and velocity....meaning, if you increase the arrow speed to optimum reading speed, your brain will trigger each arrow within the song into beat with ease. Your fingers will most likely just 'keep up' with what your brain is telling you...since you can now HEAR, SEE AND ANTICIPATE arrows all at once and in combination....this equals PWN.

I've been trying different ways on the keyboard to hit arrows. I have to admit the letters are alot easier than the small arrows c: . I should keep practicing.

That's the best thing you should do. Keep on practicing and if you're comfortable using letters as your noteskin, then be my guest. Albeit it surprises me that you find letters easier than the arrows (even orbular) but if that suits you best, then go on ahead c:

It's an obnoxious pattern that takes a while to develop the proper muscle memory for. Like learning jumpstream or other challenging patterns, you want to select "training" songs to immerse yourself in every time you sit down to play. My advice for becoming comfortable with hands is to play Wind Waker Unplugged until your ears bleed. Gradually over time you will come to peace with hands. Good luck!

18 pages later, and it can still be summed up in 8 letters. Practice.

@PrawnSkunk: I believe (through a few typos) that the user is asking about playing faster/more complicated charts with two hands as opposed to one.

So you're trying to become accustomed to playing two-handed? I suppose it starts with familiarizing yourself with the key setup you decide to use (e.g. ASKL). Have yourself become comfortable at partitioning the four arrow columns into two separate parts: left-hand columns (left and up arrows) and right-hand columns (down and right arrows).

Now practice songs to familiarize yourself with the various arrow patterns you may encounter. Some patterns will be biased to one of your hands (e.g. left-down-left-down is a left hand-biased pattern). Others will require you to use both hands in cooperation (e.g. left-down-up-right is a pattern that will transition from your left hand to your right).

At this point, it's just a matter of familiarizing yourself with arrow patterns to improve your hand-eye coordination. When you feel like you know how to approach most types of patterns without much thought, then you can focus on improving your finger speed. In other words, know what you're playing before focusing on speed!
