i certainly hope you're not referring to the teacher
because i'm pretty sure the putz who could have even-headedly explained the situation instead of losing her cool and squawking a feeble retort with all the self-control of a warthog is the tool in this situation

I am. It really irks me when teachers automatically assume you did something wrong and start criticizing you for nothing. Besides, she was probably annoyed already by the fact that she forgot her book, so the teacher yelling at her made her answer that way.
Besides, the same could be said for the teacher. He should have approached her in a better way than he did.

Agree wholeheartedly. Babyvpr shouldn't have called him an asshole in any circumstance (especially the ones given). Respect should be given and you deserved to be kicked out of class. Learn from your mistakes.

Okay, but I honestly don't understand why I'm the only one from that class to get suspended/kicked out when like 5 other kids in there disrespect him ALL the time. I'm not the only one who has called him an asshole/jackass. Whatever though it's in the past and i'm out of that school.

Whether you were the only one to disrespect him or not is completely irrelevant. The FACT is that you did disrespect him and you should hold yourself accountable for your actions. No one forced you to disrespect the man. He's just trying to earn a living teaching kids & doesn't need to be harassed by getting himself called asshole by a bunch of kids.
Summary: You should know right from wrong.

Well, my high school has a program where the state pays for any courses one would want to take at the local public university, so I'm just doing everything there except for orchestra at the high school, mainly because my high school is small and has sucky course offerings.
Warning, long list ahead, in no particular order: Orchestra - Violin - We're practicing a few pieces in preparation for a festival and concert coming up; the pieces are "Zampa Overture," "Op. 34 Two elegic melodies for string orchestra" by Grieg (the melodies are Hjertesår, or Heartwounds, and Våren, or Springtide), and movements 1 and 3 from an arranged version of Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. Chem 116 - Honors Chemical Principles II - We're just finishing up a chapter on colligative properties, and had our midterm last week (I managed to get a 90/100 because the prof graded mine wrong, but he told me to keep the points; I'm kinda stoked because the highest grade was a 91). Biol 107 - Cell Biology - We're doing cellular respiration and fermentation...and in lab we have to write a 2-4 page single spaced lab write up on how potatoes change in weight when soaked in water with different stuff dissolved in it. On the bright side, we made some alcohol, although it was discarded afterwards. Astr 138 - Planets and Planetary Systems - We've just finished up the properties of Venus and will be having a midterm next week. This is a really easy class, and it's totally awesome. Math 283 - Honors Calculus III - We have a midterm next week, and just finished using Lagrange multipliers to calculate extrema for 3 dimensional surfaces. Partial derivatives are so easy it's almost like Calc I. I expect that we'll be starting multiple integrals soon, and be introduced to all the joys aforementioned in this thread. Math 230 - Honors Intro. Linear Algebra - Midterm next week! We've gone through solving equations with matrices and have just finished up linear independence and linear transformations/matrix algebra. This class is easy and fun, because the professor is Greek and has weird pronunciations for everything. Engl 110 - Reading NOW! - We read books that have been written "since we were born." So they're all modern books, and we do units on different types of literature. Right now, we're doing graphic novels (=comics); the one we're reading at the moment is Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. PEACT 108 - (Beginning) Karate - Yes, this is offered as a course. We're in the process of mastering two katas, and are allowed to do blue-belt (lowest besides white) testing next week. I may or may not do this, depending on how much time I have; I do have 3 midterms. Distance Education! - Brigham Young University was kind enough to offer the following distance education courses to spare me some high school grief. Health I can finish in a week as opposed to a semester, and Tennis & Jogging get me out of a semester of PE, letting me do what I want (i.e. preparing for varsity tennis). Dang, that's a lot. Whatever, my schedule's still awesome. |
