while 2.0 is obviously excessive and done purely for novelty/amusement, playing above my skill level is how i got better at 4key and it worked pretty well there. going hard is also the only fun way to play for me. for the most part, anything i can AA or easily combo feels stupid and boring (hence why i always play things with 400ish bpm streams or 300+ bpm js in 4key, and why i only rarely post a score on something i already AAed).

that said, how good am i supposed to be before i'm allowed to use 2.0? i can FC each of those files on 1.0 (AAA on most) and probably FC the majority of them on higher rates.

i probably sound like a dick when that wasn't really my intention, i just despise the "only do easy stuff, never do hard stuff" mentality. whether its in stepmania or anything else really.

well solo has a strange learning curve. playing really hard stuff compared to your level won't gradually improve your timing like 4key does
