Im getting sick of all the topics with questions about resonance, so ill make a guide to it.
Q: What does "Time Change" mean? And why can't I play files with Time Changes? A: It means the BPM(beats per minute) Changes at some point in the song, for example, The Legend of MAX changes from 33-666. This resonance beta does not support time changes. Q: Why does it say my file is "Not Checked" A: Don't worry, files are not instantly working, they must be checked first to see how the file plays and if it will work on resonance. Q: The Music plays but there are no arrows, what's going on? A: On some computers you have to click it for it to play. That could be the problem you're having, although more than likely need to Clear cache/private files/temporary internet files(whatever). Refresh and try again. Also, go to the Simfile DB to play the files. It is Better than just clicking the "Play Resonance" Link. Q: WTH?! The song stopped right in the middle but i see "miss" even though i cant see any arrows. A: This happens when the song is over the time limit on resonance, I do believe resonance has a time limit for songs. For Example, Free Bird By Lynyrd Skynyrd, is about 15 minutes for the full version. It would more than likely stop around 5 minutes. If you download the file, you do get the full version. Q: How do i post music and make steps? A: Read this topic, it has all the answers you need for this question. http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=11249 Any more questions I missed? Let me know. |

umm actually most of the time people upload files that have no arrows on accident for example: u have the difficutlies 1, 2, and 3; 1 and 2 may have arrows but 3 may not because they went to make a step file for it and never but arrows on for it then saved it with no arrows so then when u clikc 3 to play it on ffr theres no arrows ^^^^^^^that might no tmake sense |

What happens more often is that since Resonance plays to the end of the MUSIC, and NOT the steps, the music may end prematurely for whatever reason (like from a weird sample rate that makes the music play faster than it should) while the steps are still scrolling. Quote:

But hey, might as well... Ramengan's SIMFILE DB -> STEPMANIA Guide 1. Download your simfile. 2. Extract it. a. If the file type is .zip, you can use WinZip or WinRAR to extract it. Google them if you don't have them already. b. If the file type is .rar, use WinRAR. c. If the file type is .smzip, Stepmania will automatically recognize it. All you need to do is double-click and follow the instructions to extract it. 3. Check the simfile. a & b. If you extracted a .zip or .rar, check to make sure there is at LEAST a music file (mp3 or ogg) and a steps file (sm or dwi). Make sure all files are in their own folder (preferrably named after the song title). c. If you are extracting .smzip, check for these files when the package manager shows you the file list. Then hit okay and you're done! 4. Putting it in the Stepmania --> Songs --> Group Folder (for Windows). a & b. After checking the files, take that folder and place it in the songs folder in the Stepmania program. The default directory is C:\Program Files\Stepmania\Songs\<Group>, where <Group> is the name of a Group folder (go figure), like "DDR 1st Mix". This can be named anything, like "Downloaded Simfiles". So just make sure you have a group folder, and move the song folder (with all those wonderful extracted files) into that group. c. .smzip files are automatically put in the Stepmania directory for you. How nice. ![]() Load Stepmania and it should work all nicely. That's a pretty long looking guide, but the steps are actually very simple. It just takes a lot to explain. I hear there are video tutorials somewhere if that's your thing. Probably on YouTube or Google. |

I think time change is a rather confusing way to label it. People would understand better if it said something like "BPM changes/pauses". There could also be a note at the top of the simfile DB page explaining what "time change" means (like the note that describes the increased filesize limit).
This is completely on topic. |

When I was going to do the song "breaking the habit", it took so long to load. So I pressed the play button on the right click menu. But then, a different song came up. How did this happen? And whats the song called? (resonance)

If you had actually read the bug report thread at the top of the forum, or even other threads, you would realize that question's already been answered several times.
