I never really considered an approach like that for ITG graphics. If I were designing a website or laying out a print ad, then yeah. Might have to reconsider though.

ps: going clean (gd-style) something makes your text better than glow + drop shadow.

My graphics are just text with a single colored background so it could be worse.

Type is beautiful when it's flat and in it's purest form—less is more.

People are way too focused on loading their work with fancy hipster typefaces, brushwork, textures, abstract renders, photography, and all that jazz when something as simple as a solid colour background and white text with some nice typography can suffice. But I suppose something as simple as that comes off as ludicrous and way too bland and boring for most people who just want flashy stuff all up in their faces, rofl.

I guess that is what makes me different compared to a majority of people here in the community. I design as if I'm creating stuff used for print and being a print designer by default really influences my design choices, lol. "Less is more" is something I personally always go by in general, but for the purposes of STePMaNia graphics, I'll drop some of the aforementioned hipster stuff in my work for shits.

In the end, to each their own—do what you want to do. SM/ITG graphics don't really matter in the first place.
