I have been in two officials (4 and 6) and both times got pwned in round 3. I plan to break that tradition this time (and not by getting pwned in rounds 1 or 2).

I'm going to rehash my random thought from when Sambista stabbed my heart with a carving knife.
Every time there's been a tourney this big, the winners of each lower division end up getting scores in the later rounds that make players that were initially put higher than them go "what the hell." If YoshL going full furry fury on Kirby Music with an SDG FC to take home D4's ultimate prize is any indication, the winners are always those with the best combination of skillboosts, empty schedules and sheer good fortune. It's not about where you start. It's about hitting your stride at the right time. Part of this involves being a borderline case and getting bumped down, another part is having charts that play to your strengths and target your rivals' weaknesses, and there's certainly a fluke-run element present as always. The winners aren't the best players, but the ones that have the best tournament. That being said, quit your bitching and try rising to the challenge for once. You just might surprise yourself.

Everyone wants to win, but the chances of winning without a mid-tourny skill boost AND a upper-divisional placement are very low. In the lower divisions, people may be placed lower because they have never really tried that hard before, so it never showed in the ranks. I could give examples, but I wont. Occasionally you hear this sentiment around -

I'd be D5 this year, but I'm not going to participate. I wish everyone good luck who will be entering in this year.

that absolutely should be the case. otherwise, we might as well compare levelranks and forgo the tournament altogether.

I enjoyed the last one but this one will be a huge disappointment. My computer is still scrambled so the only place to play in the tourney is my old laptop at work, which gives random misses during jacks and generally lags a bit to give me not the greatest of PA. Basically, if any round comes down to needing a perfect score then I'm out

In other news D5 is gonna feel my wrath this year.
Choofers, if participating AND not D6, is going to be dethroned.

D5 try hard time
--- Well either YoshL was misplaced in D4, sandbagged, or cheated (which he didn't). Because no one gets a skill boost that goes from high D4 to upper D6. That score on Kirby is absurd and more than just luck and a high skill boost.
