Updating with these new comments when I get on the internet later, I don't have the time right now (gotta catch the train). I just wanted you guys to know, I am not ignoring suggestions or comments, just haven't had time to update. When I can, all this will be added in and addressed. Updating Engine links list on my profile though, for those who posted comments about missing engine links there.

http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...0_sa_debug.exe Direct download link to adobe 10 .swf player, just copy paste this, "http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/~velocity/ffr_Wide.swf" or "http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/ffrndanotherway.swf". It shouldn't be too super hard

Be sure you have the latest version of flash player and that the t-xmlfeedbacktest and t-ffrstatsreadfiles are correct in the directory." What do I do?

I have absolutely no idea why this thread was made. All of the information that is needed to run the standalone can be found in the Temporary FAQ thread. I'm going to elaborate this as much as I can.
Tools needed: - FFR's engine links. Velocity Engine | Legacy Engine - Macromedia Flash Player 8, or Adobe Flash Player 9/10. You do not need the physical .swf to run FFR - having the .swf will cause authentication conflicts due to server-side .php files not being referenced properly within the engine (as you'll be running the game LOCALLY if you're offline). If you're using Velocity's engine, simply plug in the link given above, and it should ask you for your username and password. If you're using the Legacy engine, continue down to the Internet Explorer area. - Internet Explorer (referred to as IE). If you're using the legacy engine with Flash Player 9 or Flash Player 10, you're going to need IE to save your authentication settings. Go to FFR's homepage, type in your username and password, and make sure that you check off the Remember Me box. Once you do that, you can open your Flash Player and it should keep all of your settings saved. Note: if you're using Velocity's engine, you can authenticate yourself right within the engine. Flash Player Links: Windows: Macromedia Flash Player 8 | Adobe Flash Player 9 | Adobe Flash Player 10 Mac: Adobe Flash Player 9 | Adobe Flash Player 10 Linux: Adobe Flash Player 10 For those of you running Linux and wanting to use an older version of Flash Player, I couldn't find a link for Flash Player 9 - you're going to have to emulate it using WINE. Get it here: WINE If you have Flash 9 on your computer for any reason on linux, run this command: Code:
$ sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-nonfree Code:
$ sudo dpkg -i install_flash_player_10_linux.deb Some people recommend Gamebooster, but it doesn't effect performance all that much for newer computers that can run FFR well, so it's not worth putting a link up. It's easy to find - just search IOBit Gamebooster and you should find the latest version. This will help your gameplay a good deal, but it can be improved even more on those of you using Windows - if you turn your graphic properties down to 16 bit, and use the "Windows Classic" theme, you're reducing the amount of memory your dwm.exe process uses dramatically. It's a minimum amount in terms of memory, but your computer has considerably less graphics to render. I hope that helps. Last edited by TC_Halogen; 08-31-2011 at 05:12 PM.. |

The general idea of the thread was to solely focus on this point, since people are too ignorant to read the FAQ to find out things like this... I've seen/posted in about 4-6 threads about the standalone in the past few weeks/months, so it was kind of seeming that people were just not looking very hard for these answers and now they are easy to find as this is a thread devoted entirely to standalones. PS, thanks for a few links (Linux and the other Mac link!) that I was missing.
I have updated it completely, as soon as I get the few links Halogen posted that I didn't get updated already. If you guys still see something wrong, let me know! |

My thoughts about it: if people are too lazy to look for a FAQ thread that answers this question, then chances are they won't read this thread either after some point, and the same questions are going to pop up all over again.

People asked the same question 3 times in this thread already that had been answered. People just don't look, that's how it is.

Flash player 9 standalone took me from lagging so bad I couldn't AAA anything to getting like 200 new AAA's since coming back and only lagging about once every ten songs.
