By 'two unique' AAAs, he means he has AAAs on two different songs.

Also, I'm for this idea if LD can somehow formulate a way (as he stated already) that if you have over an x amount of ATPs, you'd be switched over to regular tier points.

Yes-- Almost exactly what I was gonna say...

My idea is that if you are on any tier on the regular tier points, you should not be able to do the amateur tier points.

There should be a thread of it like the actual tier points, that way the newer people would have to post in the thread to get on the list, and it'd keep all of the good people out.

I'd be willing to make a list of points for levels 1-4 IF anyone who has any power to make this happen takes this idea seriously (ld?), if not I won't bother.
Further agrees with my own opinions. WOW JUGGLINGUY, I haven't agreed with you this much for a LONG time.

Wow, I think Doug thought I AAA'd two songs with my eyes shut, or while watching TV.

No, my idea of a unique AAA would be an AAA that no one else had, like Rottel or BB Evo or something. I figured you didn't have 2 of those, so I really had no idea what you had 2 of.

WOWZORZ!!!

I mean, this is the first time an idea of mine anywhere has been considered and discussed at such length.

Anyway, are we just talking here, or are we gonna start making a full list of reqs.?

EDIT -- And by the way, all of the other methods of this system are great, having .xx or xxxxxxxx points per requirement.

The whole point of the tier system is to show how skilled you really are, not how much you play. Including billions of songs to the list only favors those that play the most FFR and not the most skilled.

And as pandaman already mentioned...you do get tier points for playing easier songs from total # of AAA's.

Ok it seems like LD will be making ATPs so all I want to know is the max amount of ATP's to give out for an AAA of a difficulty 5, and the whole set of ATPS for free space, if I know those two then I can get all the difficulties in between.

Would this be for newbies? If 5 points is a Free Space AAA, then by the time you graduate, you still won't even be close to TP's at all. There would be a huge gap that the player would have to cross in order to get to TP's.

I say, make the songs 5-8 in diff, and use those as ATP's. Hence, AMATEUR. Not n00b.

I Made a modifacation sorta

how about have two tier points list one for pros and one for newbs
so once you get passed teir 1 on the easy one (which would be tier 4 in the pro one) so kind of like more tiers with more songs for the newbs

I agree with you (in parts). If it was 4 or 5 tier points for an AAA on freespace, level 6s SDG would be like 10! So maybe something like:

#1 Free Space (FFR Edit):
(2) AAA
(1) 5 or fewer.

Because if the ATP requirements were easier, the people who would get 1s and 2s would be people who've never even bothered looking at the forums.

I'm against it, too, but don't forget the average ranks kinda make good players whore easy songs for AAAs. Hell, I got 0-0-1-1 on Soul Shift 'cause I was dumb and celebrated a jump too early. Too lazy to do it again.

Not a bad idea really, with what LD brought up.

Yeah, any skill-based ranking system that makes good players go back and AAA easy stuff is dumb, they shouldn't have to if they don't want to...works if you make it like two completely seperate lists where it's impossible to be on both...

Problem: what prevents the normal TP players from making alt accounts and clogging up the ATP list with barely-lower-than-cutoff values?

Inactivity. If you wanted to stay on the list, you would have to get at least 1 tier point every month or so, that way, they're forced to make progress until they get out of the lists. We could also have an admin IP check them if we're suspicious.

If noobs were forced to earn a certain amount of ATPs, then why dont they just practice harder and get TPs instead of ATPs?

ATPs give them motivation.

I have a mole of amateur tier points lol.

Anyway, I discourage this. Tier Points are for upper-tier players. Amateur Tier Points are too broad; there are thousands of players to be included, and yet so many of them don't even care. Thus, the ATP system would be too inaccurate, IMO. I'm sure several of my friends who are inactive on this game could be pretty high up in this system but don't really play anymore and wouldn't be included.
