Ah, I see what you mean now ObserveR. I guess that is a better way to do it if you want to go straight to making a cool team from the start. I always tend to play the way I did when I first played Blue, which was to just catch everything and use whatever seems to be the most useful at the time. On a rare occasion the team would get a member replaced, but for the most part it sticks around until I beat the game and start thinking on a more cool or strategic team.

I actually very rarely have a fire type in my regular lineup. Maybe it's because you don't find many early on in the game, but I always found other ways around getting type advantages on fire-weak without fire.

My current Diamond in-game team is Empoleon, Staraptor, Luxray, Golem, Alakazam, and Roselia (this one is less stable in his position on my team; he's useful for catching Pokemon and stuff but he's kinda weak compared to the other powerhouses I'm used to using).

Anyway, as for the Eevee, I dunno if I was feeling selfish at that time or what, but I'll just go ahead and breed you one for free. It's not that much of a pain to do, as long as I don't start getting requests from every person on here. XD

It should be pretty easy to evolve it into Glaceon. All you do is let it level up next to the "Ice Rock". I haven't seen that yet, so it's not all that early on in the game, but once you find it (I'm guessing it's in that snowy town way up north) it won't be hard at all to evolve him. The one to evolve into Leafeon is really early on, somewhere in the Eterna Forest.

I think the character limit for names for the Japanese games are like five or something, so they can't put a long English name.

You do have to remember though that everyone can easily create and dupe hacked pokemon now with the pokesav program. Japan has had it for ages. If you don't mind getting hacked pokemon then go crazy with the GTS and you can have a powerful team with no effort at all.

Thats pretty much why they don't mind giving up any type of pokemon. about 90% of the pokemon on GTS are hacked.

Oh and exact names don't matter for adding people so choose whatever name you like.

Just got around to defeating the elite four. Why the hell did the previous champion need my help all the way at the start if she was the fukkin pokemon champion. Christ.

Luxray
Ponyta (I forget if it needs a firestone to evolve to Rapidash, or just lvl)
Staraptor
Kadabra (waiting to trade to make it an alakazaam)

and 1 place holder pokemon for HM usage.

I'm glad to hear that they finally forced you to actually LEVEL your team up decently high to finish the game this time. (I believe the highest pokemon the champion has is 66.)

I remember you could finish the game at like lvl 45 ish in red/blue and like 50 ish for gold/silver.

In reference to beating the Elite Four, in FireRed and LeafGreen they got pretty hard the second time around, since all of their pokemon leveled up and included some of the G/S ones. I haven't getten around to beating it again, yet, though.

I also want to build up a monster team of Unowns that spell out WILKIN.

Yeah, it doesn't matter for adding a friend but if we trade with each other, it'll have your name as the OT, so it's nice to have a listing in case we end up forgetting who it was.

Oh yeah, and speaking of Unowns, I painstakingly captured every single letter including ? and ! so I could get all the ball capsule letters from that kid. I have a nice happy pretty but useless alphabetical box of Unowns now.

I had no idea where ? and ! were until I found the place by mistake (or rather just obsessive exploring). For some reason neither of my friends who were playing this with me went in there at all.

Took me forever to find a freakin' A. I don't know if more letters are more common during certain times of day or what, but that stupid A took me ages to find.

Also, random fact... it seems that when you first see an Unown, whichever letter that was ends up being the one shown on your Pokedex. Then when you catch one, whichever was the first you caught replaces whatever was there and becomes the one shown in your Pokedex. Then once you get the dex upgrade that lets you view different forms of the Pokemon (usually for male/female, but also things that have multiple forms like Shellos and Burmy) it doesn't put them in alphabetical order. It's either the order you caught them in, or the order you saw them once you caught one... not sure (the two orders are almost the same for me).

I haven't gotten past Victory Road because I have been training instead. My pokemon are all around level 50 except my Infernape at 63

Online is pretty sweet. For wi-fi with friends, you can even turn on voice chat and hear each other through DS microphone. XD Sometimes the music is kinda loud in comparison to the voice, but it's still pretty cool to be able to talk as if you were right next to each other while battling.

In Metroid Hunters you could just do it in the little room lobby, but not actually during the battle.

Yep, I haven't done it myself but I was right next to my friend when she did it. It's pretty cool.
