Default Open ITG - Timing Windows?

Is it just me or do the timing windows on OpenITG seem extremely strict. I can AAA songs on SM with Judge 4 with a decent MA but I can't even FC songs on OpenITG. The rare FC comes bundled with hundreds of greats. It's pissing me off because I love the ITG theme.

ITG window has a stricter timing window then Stepmania.

ITG Timing Window:
JudgeWindowScale=1.000000
JudgeWindowSecondsMine=0.070000
JudgeWindowSecondsBoo=0.180000
JudgeWindowSecondsGood=0.135000
JudgeWindowSecondsGreat=0.102000
JudgeWindowSecondsPerfect=0.043000
JudgeWindowSecondsMarvelous=0.021500
JudgeWindowSecondsOK=0.320000
JudgeWindowSecondsAttack=0.130000

Stepmania Timing Window:
JudgeWindowScale=1.000000
JudgeWindowSecondsAttack=0.135000
JudgeWindowSecondsBoo=0.180000
JudgeWindowSecondsGood=0.135000
JudgeWindowSecondsGreat=0.090000
JudgeWindowSecondsMarvelous=0.022500
JudgeWindowSecondsMine=0.090000
JudgeWindowSecondsOK=0.250000
JudgeWindowSecondsPerfect=0.045000
JudgeWindowSecondsRoll=0.350000

EDIT: Not sure if you noticed but when you compare the gap between the perfects and greats on both SM and ITG. You will notice that ITG's gap is HUGE so it is much easier to get greats.

That's odd, I always found it much easier to MA on songs in OpenITG. I was playing on it when I got my first AAA on an ITG 19: Extratone in a Perfect World from Tachyon Delta.

Perhaps the fact I was playing index had something to do with it, though.

If you're playing ITG on a custom theme, you may be inadvertently using timing padding. Some themes have 1.2 milliseconds of padding; it's been an ongoing argument that has happened in ITG community for years due to machine polling and whatnot. Check in the metrics to make sure that there's not some sort of override (or, make a static.ini file with JudgeWindowAdd=0.000000).

To add in what I have seemed to discover recently that Full screening SD applications tend to sometimes almost cause a severe case of input lag that will destroy your scores.
Tests:
Popn Music 17 - Have to hit REALLY early so must be played on window
Beatmania - Have to change the display type from A to C for my Television which introduces manual delay according to the display type

Working on ITG:
Cobalt flux while playing on full screen I noticed I kept getting greats when trying to time everything right. It was barely playable in the slightest. Going to try windowed mode and see if it helps

tl;dr try to play window'd and see if it helps.

The last one might be the relationship between your USB and your Flux -- I had massive lag when using mine.

I thought this was the case, however I tested my flux before on my old monitor which wasn't so much HD and it had worked just fine and was easily playable. It seems upscaling causes more lag especially on rhythm games than people realize.
