I don't know if it was brought up before, but I like your diet change idea.

At home we are trying to do the same. Generally we will portion out various items for a decent meal for 6 days a week, and leave the last day to have a bit of leeway and cheat. I'm lucky enough that I have a lot of time to cook, since I work only 3 days a week.

We like to plan a "menu". We have a small white board separated into 6 days and try to have a different meal each day. The benefits are enormous - saving money, eating healthier, and the cooking lets us get a bit creative.

Edit: on that note, is there a better way to structure your meals in a day? I have seen some theories that it's better to go with 5-6 smaller meals or large snacks, than with 3 large meals. Is the theory behind that idea sound?

It's great to see you're organised so well with your diet. Helps a lot in the long run.

As for meal timing, it's preference. I would typically eat twice a day because I just don't like eating and I feel as if it wastes my time. I'll be eating 3 meals a day now though, solely based on the fact that eating cleaner foods makes it harder for me to eat 3300-3500 calories in two meals.

Gotcha.

Yeah I got really lucky with my job; with so much free time it makes it much easier to stay on top of our schedule haha. Before I had this one, it was rare when we ate healthy... I had no idea how much better I would feel with better eating habits. I mean emotionally it could be because of the job but physically it's shown. Now I just need to keep up with my exercise

some before/afters

207lb

I think this was 200lb or so:

175lb:

170lb:

this took about three months. I'm starting a bulk cycle soon to last until October at minimum. I've thought about cutting more to add more definition to my lower torso, but frankly at this point I'm sick of cutting.

There's not a clear distinction at all b/w narcissism and merely improving one's appearance. In fact, when describing it as such, I would say the two are exactly the same thing. The intent is what makes it narcissism. The difference in all those activities is that there's also minimum societal standards to appearance. Not adhering to those makes someone less appealing, and at the same time following them isn't narcissistic, it's wanting to avoid people thinking poorly of you.
I just saw this, and I'm curious why you think this true. There are so many questions I have.

* How exactly do you think these social standards get created? It's not like they're culturally inherent. People had to hold these preferences for these things to become 'standard'.

* How exactly are these 'standards' or 'minimums'? How are you determining this? They're if anything normative preferences. I don't know how you'd establish what the minimum is.

* Why are you elevating the act of adhering to societal norms? A lot of societal norms are stupid. What's your basis for making these standards so special?

* Do you think someone who either ignores or wants to go beyond social standards is a narcissist?
