Stepman University (Currently looking for teachers/students)

Welcome to Stepman University! Patashu had a great idea with the Stepmania university, but this time, the aim is to gear this towards all different forms of stepping. I'm going to help to coordinate everything with StepmanU. Look at me as an academic advisor. Our goal here is to help you, the new stepper, on your journey into the charting world.

Once we have all our teachers sorted out, I hope to have at least one weekly live session on video chat, so that you will be able to ask questions and be able to have them answered live visually. There may be different days of the week for different types of charting. I also hope to have tutorial videos available when teachers are not, for your reference. I will start to put up more details as we get signups, so I know what the teacher/student ratio looks like.

First thing to accomplish: we need some teachers. The well known names: if you'd like to become a teacher, please post in the thread and put down if you will be teaching for Stepmania, FFR, pad (PIU, ITG, DDR), 6key, etc. If you can teach multiple areas, please put all areas you are willing to teach. Also, please specify if you use DDReam or SM for charting. If you're a little less well known and would like to be considered for a teaching position, we'll put together some type of quiz to test your knowledge on your specific area.

Second thing we need is some students. If you would like to be a part of StepmanU, please make a post regarding what type of charting you are looking to learn. Give us a little introduction and tell us why you are interested in the art of simfiling. I will also put up a quiz once we get some signups, to see how much you already know about simfiling (so we can start you in the right area). It's alright if you're brand new, we'll teach you right from the basics of navigating the editor.

I'd like to be a student :3 I actually wanna learn charting of all the types that will be offered xD I'm interested in it because it's something that passes the time and some of the charts that people make are super fun, and I hope that one day I can also make fun charts.

I would like to be enrolled as a student as well! I would like to learn how to step files particularly in FFR and perhaps SM. I would like an in-depth tutorial on stepping with DDReam since I am still a beginner at it. I would also like to cover a list of genres and hear some strong tips on stepping certain parts of a wide selection of songs so that I have a versatile mindset of stepping when it comes to submitting files in the batch. Thanks!

Can I apply for grad school here? I have done some courses at a community college and I already have my degree, but I would like to hone my craft.

My time would be spent on a medium to large project under the supervision of one of your professors. This could also be done with other grad students if there are others looking to complete the same project or are interested in working together to create a larger project.

I would also be available to help with some of the undergrads if they are having trouble with what it is that they are learning.

Attached is some of my work to date, which can be found in places such as the VGMP, VGMP2, and even the fourth iteration of the midare series. If needed, I can ask for letters of recommendation from previous professors and have them contact you about my skill sets and work experience.

We do have an admission process that applies for newly attending students. Enclosed is the paperwork involved for enrollment for SMU; I have seen some of your work and we are very interested in having your presence here.

Please note that all applicants will be taking an entrance exam for classes, regardless of their skill.

I can teach about pattern/stepfile flow, kind of like a subgenre of "layering" I suppose. I use it in my files and it helps to show the full potential of any song that anyone steps.
