Default Snow, snow, and more snow.

I'd say were keeping up with Boston, if not passing them in snowfall. Here's a couple pics from my house. There's literally nowhere to put it but up, so the piles have grown higher than the roof, and the sides of the roads are about a foot higher than everyone's mailboxes lol.

Some fun facts (for central New York, which is where I live):

-Assuming the forecast is correct for the rest of the week, this will be the first time, since records have been kept, that the temperature has not been above freezing for the entire month of February.

-With that said, this is on track to be the coldest February on record.

-So far it's only the 3rd snowiest February, but with the temperatures never getting above freezing, every time we get snow it doesn't melt at all. As it stands, we are just over double our average snowfall for the month of February.

-We have had a measurable amount of snow all but 3 days, and out of the days we've had measurable snowfall, 8 of them have been 3 inches or greater, and 2 have been 10 inches or greater.

What's it like where you live?

Not snowy, that's for sure.

It's pretty darn cold though.

Boston and Eastern Canada had it hard this time.

-34°C here, barely even snow on the ground to make a fort.

Here's a map of the difference in temperature between last month and 1951-1981 :

I'm in the middle of that bright blue spot in Quebec.

More snow in the forecast at Western NC, probably be an inch or so.

I find it amusing that you guys hardly complain about the cold, more just the amount of snow there is. In Melbourne, it's been 35°C for the past few days and today it's barely 20°C. I'm freezing.

But I wish we had snow like that. I have to travel a minimum of 4 hours for terrible man-made snow. I just want to board...

I don't really mind the cold as long as it's not really windy. that's just brutal. I'm used to it though because obviously I live in it, but I also do a lot of snow removal for people so I'm outside more often than not in the winter.

Unusually, compared to elsewhere, it was 8C/46F today and sunny. Calgary was at 13C/55F. Snow is melting and the brown grass is showing up everywhere. But I know it'll get colder again soon.

Still recovering from the ice storms from last week. :\ Luckily for me, my job gave us the option to work from home...so I just whored out FFR & watched Northernlion BoI Rebirth videos for the 7 days I was stuck in the house. :P

Ice on my car and my sister's car along with the back porch.

Coldest winter on record set for Ottawa as of today, I think it was like 45 consecutive days of lower than -20C with windchill. Also a decent amount of snow, not a shit ton though.

I've lived in my current house for 3 years now (near Chicago) and every winter when it gets ridiculously cold, my cold water pipes freeze up. 2 days ago my cold water pipe burst in my kitchen and flooded it while I was out of town. Came home to a flooded kitchen pretty much ruined all of the flooring. I dont mind the snow much, or the bitter cold.. this just fucking sucked.

I guess the only good that came from this is that my landlord is taking care of it. :[

Balmy, beautiful weather here in VanCity. About 14 degrees today give or take a few degrees. It gets cool at night but whatever. The cherry blossoms are blooming and spring is making an early arrival. :3

Well, the snow has been pretty ridiculous (I live Northeast of Boston) with almost 100 inches (254cm) in 3 weeks. Yesterday was 40°F (4.4°C) and raining, caused a bunch of flooding (not as much as I expected though), and today is -5°F (-30.5°C) with nearing -30°F (-34.4°C) wind chill so no matter where you walk it's ice. The record for snow in Boston (I wish I could give stats for my city, but I don't think they keep them as accurately) was previously 107.6 inches (273.3 cm, hah would've been great if it were 273.15) in the winter of 2005-2006.
As of February 15th, we were at 95.7 inches (243cm) and it didn't even really start until January 23rd.

And just for fun, this was my mom down by the coast where they were putting some of the snow from downtown crosswalks and storm drains (or anything else that should be cleared out). The pile is significantly larger now, and spans a parking lot of 200x300 feet (60x90m approximately) where I used to work.

Damn frozen pipes are never good, but yeah at least you don't have to eat the cost to fix them
