Anyway; as for up and down trills; I never use my index because then I have to think about it. By the time I think about it the arrows have left my screen.

I always slide my Middle finger up and down or down and up depending on which arrow is first in the trill. You just have to practice this a lot and it will come. Whether it is trills in Vertex Beta or jumps in World Of Dreams; I never touch the up and down keys with any other finger besides my middle.

possessed middle finger is the key to up and down trills.
Honestly, if you have a flat keyboard which is the best to have in such a situation..
Use lotion on your hand before you play. Your speed and ability to play will increase because you can slide your hand much faster and without worry.
As for up and down.. Depending if you're trying to combo them or PA..
Pa you have to learn to slide your middle finger really fast back and forth.. Practice doing so when you're bored on a comp or just practice on a desk or something. Either way you're speed will increase.. If you're just going for combo. use the ball of your middle finger and hit both the up and down end of story.

Alright, I've got a bit of bad news guys.

As it turns out, having played as much as I have is taking it's toll - I've got tendonitis in my arm. From what I know, it could lead to carpal tunnel in the future should I continue to play.

Now I don't have numbness in my fingers, which is a good sign as that is the first symptom of actual carpal tunnel syndrome - just pain in the left-of-center of my wrist from inflammed tendons. I'm going to stop playing for a few days and let it clear up. If it quickly comes back when I resume playing, then I'll have to accept the fact that I'll have to quit the game for good to prevent permanent damage to my wrist. I'll still continue to update this list and step files, but I won't be able to play anymore if that's the case.

I've been in your boat for almost 5 months Bynary. ^^
The tendons that control my fingers (on the top of my hand) have been in constant pain since early March.

Well yeah. It's a periodic deep throbbing pain with a little needle in the middle. ;]
It doesn't hurt if I'm not using my hand, but using my mouse just kills me. (It's gotten a lot better though, I'd give it till the end of the summer and it should be gone. But no more FFR :[)

Wow, I hope you guys can get over your pains. That must really suck!

As a side note: I am going spread after the Official FFR Tournament. I am doing this because I want to reduce the risks of injury. I also feel that I have reached my limit. I want to get better at this game and I think that I should play the game the way it was meant to be played. I am also tired of handicapping myself just for fun; it is silly.

It was fun being here though and as I go through my old posts; I realize that alot went down here. It sure was fun and I want to thank everyone including the drama causers for making it all possible. You guys are great!
