I make it a point never to make hopelessly vague criticisms or take out my frustration on teammates who are playing poorly.

im watching the finals xD Chauster just made ballsy move. went 1v4 when they were going after baron. he died, but good move imo.

Learn to ignore them. We all get frustrated once in a while and lose control, but you gotta learn how to deal with them. It's almost like a social skill. Besides, the reason why PvP is so fun is because you can feel very satisfied or very terrible. What other games have the power to do this?

The reason you build survivability on carries is because you don't want to be killed in one shot or one combo. Lots of champions (technically all of them) have escape mechanisms. Once you find yourself caught out of place, you USUALLY have at least one or two chances to get out, like a get out of jail free. However, that doesn't matter if you get stunned and focused down too fast because you die in one hit.

My recommendation to new players is that they almost never play Co-op vs. AI, and strictly stick to PvP with a few exceptions.

However, if you find that you accidentally played too much non-PvP and missed out, don't be afraid to go back and smurf from level 1. Even if you're a fairly advanced player, there's a lot you can learn from smurfing.

well he had already kicked them off baron, the safest course of action would have been to leave it be but going for a couple kills offered greatest reward for risk since at that point whether or not he died was inconsequential since tsm couldn't take baron at that point either way

Just saying, SotD is good on any proccing champs, specifically Vayne or Kog'Maw. Every 4th attack does a bonus 100 damage, which is a significant bonus. The 60% attack speed makes procs happen extremely often for stuff like silver bolts which need 3 hits in a row to proc. Pretty good for Yi as well along with his double-attack passive.

So what items should I go for with Xin when I need survivability? What are good phys def and mag res items?

Randuin's Omen (or Warden's Mail on its own is nice). Banshee's Veil is great. Period. Sunfire Cape if you for some reason want the passive damage on Xin, Force of Nature if you don't need the health from BV.

Wit's End and Malady might work well with Xin, what with the attack speed on them, though they would be quite situational.

Like I said before, you don't need to build the big items right away. An early / mid game Chain Vest + Negatron Cloak will do a lot for your survivability.

I'm not having issues in early/mid game with survivability. It's just late game when Flash isn't enough to get away from things. A Chain Vest and Negatron Cloak is a lot of money to spend that early for not much late game help. That is unless I get the Guardian Angel which I consider terrible on Xin. I was thinking about Banshee's Veil more than anything. Omen is always good, but expensive. Cape seems like a dumb idea since I play Xin as an assassin. I'm not in the middle of battle much. Wit's End seems like a good idea but Malady doesn't provide any survivability. And yes, they would be very situational.

masterhickle's items are purely for defensive stats. If you want to actually do some damage while being quite tanky, consider this build:

Start with Doran's Shield. Get either attack speed boots or Merc treads depending on situation. The following large items will make you tanky: Frozen Mallet, Trinity Force. Then for more damage you can go: Last Whisper, Black Cleaver, Youmu's Ghostblade.

Only if you need the pure defensive stats should you get things such as Randuin's Omen, Sunfire, Banshee's, or Force of Nature.
