Added divisions, consider this first week a trial week to see how things go.

Might give this a shot since started re-playing SM a few weeks ago. Getting some old skill back but still a long way to go, not that I was a huge pro anyway

Before I came in the thread I thought this would be "Anyone, post their challenges towards potential rival players reading the thread". There was an old thread on that once (EDIT: oops ninjad like mad) (http://www.keybeatonline.com/forums/...ead.php?t=1507) and I thought it went pretty well. It enables a vast range of players and different skill levels to find potential rivals; anyone could challenge any of the challenges posted in that thread and (potentially) match up his skill with whoever. At least IMO, it seems better than just one or two people defining challenges objectively because now it lets the whole range of skills from the community (at least those posting here) to match up against each other

Right you are! Well regarding regular challenges, thats another thing i had in mind.. But i went with this instead simply to make it more like an overall thing instead of personal stuff. I remember on the swedish forums when i was a noob, no one would ever give me challenges and even here people might have been left out.

Updated challenge #1 pack is soon uploaded, i'll update the first post when thats done

LG's got the right idea on how this event can be reworked and more applicable to the community as opposed to the regulars/veterans. Take that into consideration.

Also, you and whoever is hosting this better make a commitment to this idea. If none of you take the time to actively update and post in here, this isn't going to last long either. If there's one major issue in SM today, it's that people start things but never finish them. Take a look in the Stepmania simfile forum here and you'd realize just how many of those packs -actually finish and release- aka barely any at all aside from stuff I do.

I have loooooooooads of free time, so if i want to I'll dedicate lots of hours to this. I know the three of us can pull this through, reason for choosing stai and kommi to my side is that I speak to them on an almost daily basis. Plus I've always lacked the competetive play in stepmania, aside from rivalry that is.

the rules in the first post are kinda convoluted.
i.e. the speed rules say you have to use 1.2, but then certain songs say 1.1, or no speed modifier.
and what does it mean by "judge 7 accepted"

Judge 7 is also known as ridiculous timing.

Well, if the rules say 1.2 then you use 1.2, if there are no rates mentioned you can safely assume that the normal rate is to be played.
