McDonalds
Was already reviewed with pretty much the same sentiments. The food tastes like ass and I'm kinda scared with every bite of my burger that I'm potentially swallowing hog feces with my paint chemicals and pink slime. The place is dirty as fuck, the smell is awful, the staff all seem depressed to be stuck working at a fast food place, and do I need to mention how fucking dirty the place is again? Yes. I was forced against my will to eat here. 0/10 wtf is the health inspector doing when he gets here?

Burger King is a lot worse from what I remembered several years ago. Back in the day they had star shaped chicken nuggets and nice thin crispy fries. Now the nuggets have the consistency of a fish ball (holes everywhere etc) and the fries are fat and soft, no crispiness.

Re: Review the last restaurant you've eaten at
Shit, I messed up, the last restaurant I ate at was actually today. McDonalds was yesterday.
Subway Coincidentally someone else also reviewed Subway already but I have a different opinion this time. Hooray. The place didn't seem nearly as dirty as McDonalds, but it still seemed kinda greasy. The smell however, goddamn. Supposedly, people say that's the smell of freshly baked bread, but the only word that goes through my head is "yeast infection". And the way the bread crumbles (when untoasted) it doesn't seem that fresh. Nothing in that damn joint is fresh. Well, actually, it's probably fresh enough earlier in the day (since earlier memories are not nearly as bad), but at night, after the food has been oxidizing in those tubs for hours, it's like a gamble, whether you'll get sick or not. God the pains. Also, the lettuce is too damn much. The staff was friendly enough though. That's a plus. And the chips were one day away from expiration. For that I give it a 2/10 I need to stop eating at crappy fast food restaurants. I like Five Guys but that's not even cheap.

Maybe it's different down there, but Subways here always seem clean and everything is fine. I have never once gotten even remotely sick from Subway either. |

Spenard's Roadhouse
Anchorage, AK It was alright. Friendly atmosphere, short waits, plenty of people. The salmon I had was good but small. I also went there yesterday and I had some very good pasta with pesto. |

La Chaumière
I would definitely say this is the best French cuisine you can find in my city. I tried the roasted chicken on mushroom risotto w/ parsley juice and fell in love. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the risotto had a creamy consistency, and to top it off, the servers were extremely friendly and professional. The Sommelier was extremely helpful in choosing a wine for me and Rhône happened to be a great pairing with my meal. Pricey, but it's top notch French cuisine... so very expected. 10/10

Re: Review the last restaurant you've eaten at
Minimum wage in Texas is the federal minimum wage: $7.25/hour. A $2.25 seems a bit much. If anything, I only see a $.75-$1.00 increase for the time being.

typically the quality of sushi is based on well.. the quality of the fish. usually fresh fish is obviously gonna be better by far than pre-cut and frozen fish that's defrosted @ 8am for the lunch rush hour in places like korea/japan every single sushi place that's considered 'good' or 'decent' get their fish fresh daily, but maybe that's possible becuase japan/korea are small countries surrounded by water anyhow i dont think you can get really high quality sushi 500 miles inland, that's just how it works lol

Re: Review the last restaurant you've eaten at
I understand that and for the most part you are correct. There are a few high end sushi restaurants in Dallas who have the fresh market fishes from Japan flown in everyday to maintain the same standard to the best of their ability. I will agree and say that it is likely the place dotkritic went to does not uphold that standard, because if he did, he would be looking at an omakase style restaurant that easily goes upwards to 150+ per person. I have been to the top 3 best sushi restaurants in Dallas and I can assure you the fish is as fresh as can be. It's not jiro dreams of sushi quality, but then again, nothing really is lol.

Re: Review the last restaurant you've eaten at
I haven't eaten out since March while on vacation, and I knew better than to eat out in March. Before that, I thought I'd found a good, celiac-safe restaurant here in Fredericton, The Blue Door 5 or 6 months ago, as they advertise as such and have a number of guaranteed gluten free menu items. But alas the stupid waitress didn't understand what dairy free meant and mistook it for lactose free. I wasn't so upset that she didn't get it right, (it is a semantics problem) but that she tried to ARGUE with me that I could safely eat goat cheese, that goat cheese wasn't 'dairy' (also false), and that goat cheese doesn't have lactose (also false).
Restaurants, I'm afraid, are now a thing of my past until I can get gene therapy. |

K so, a problem that could have easily been avoided by asking to speak with the manager you instead let ruin your dining experience altogether. Seems rather silly if you ask me.
