In a way, a song has infinite BPMs. In a song with 4/4 meter, its "official" bpm could be 120. But if I hear it as if each 8th note were a beat, then I'm hearing 240 bpm. It doubles the more I split it. BPM is, in a way, relative.

You do realize that someone could just go right now, add random melodies and kicks at 1,000,000 or so BPM (which would probably just create a single whine, anyways) and call it the fastest song? Yeah.
