Re: Techno?
Here are some artists that I highly reccomend;
DJ Micro Adam Freeland Baby Anne Paul Oakenfold Christopher Lawrence The Crystal Method (Busy Child is NOT their only song, guys) DJ Icey DJ Magic Mike (Being serious here) You really ought to figure out what genre you want to start out with, it will really help. And if you want specific songs that I reccomend, PM me, I don't want to clutter up the thread. |

Re: Techno?
Be aware that using Streamripper results in craptastic sounding MP3s, because you're saving them from <128 kbps streams. Radio bitrates are fine on the radio, but they're a joke if you're actually collecting songs.
Anyway, this topic is gay, but I suppose I will impart the single most useful tool anyone looking to acquire electronic music can possess - Soulseek. http://www.slsknet.org The premier P2P network for anything electronic, underground, or both. Highly recommended. My username on there is Moogy_ if any of you fools feel like browsing through my 18025 completely unsorted files (including random hentai and games). There's good stuff for the willing, though! Here's a hint: Downloads\Soulseek EDIT: Also, 95% of people with DJ in their name suck severely. A lot of trance sucks too. Re: Techno?
Thread got noob'd.
@Moogy Most people that have DJ in their name take other people's music that don't have DJ in their name and popularize it. This is a good thing, seeing that it takes a big wave to stir the unpopular depths of techno. |

Re: Techno?
The best techno song is Sandstorm by Darude. Other good ones are the Mortal Kombat theme, Streamline by Newton.

It is pretty good, but there is a lot of better stuff out there. a LOT. personally, i like gabber its really hard to find any though. happy hardcore is also great if you want a big mix of music, and you feel like paying, get the Happy Hardcore Album Type Happy Hardcore into amazon, and it'll show up its 6 cds of all sorts of stuff. not only happy hardcore. its pretty darn good. go there ---->http://www.di.fm/edmguide/edmguide.html it explains everything. |

Re: Techno?
And IMO, paul oakenfold is a bit too down paced.
but if you do like that, try Paul van Dyk |

Re: Techno?
Snapple if those are your best picks then you have no idea what true techno is. I'm sorry if that sounds elitist but it's true. Darude is fine for DDR, but is nothing compared to the likes of Venetian Snares, The Flashbulb, Aphex Twin, Emotional Joystick, etc.
Xander, you want good gabber you try DJ Sharpnel. His Gabber is always sexy. Paul Oakenfield is just.....bleh.

128 kbps is perfect IMO. 96 kbps is fine, too, there's pretty much no difference.

Re: Techno?
Yeah, all the mp3s on my computer at 64 kbps...but that's because I am deaf and it doesnt really matter since I cant hear the music...all that matters is that people on Last.fm know that I listen to a lot of Animal Collective thus making me very hip.

Re: Techno?
On the topic of techno, do any of you have songs that sound like untitled gabber song?
I really like the song, and want more songs like it.
