Life of Pi: Visually breathtaking, amazing cinematography. Overall a pretty decent movie, was a bit slow at times and I didn't really like the writer scenes, but they did a very good job considering how hard it is to stay true to the book.

Ted - I gotta say, Seth MacFarlane is fucking hilarious. Hard to believe it was his directoral debut, though he was no stranger to writing comedy, so yeah. Looking forward to the sequel.

A Haunted House: It had some funny moments, but it was mostly awkward sexual humor. Nothing wrong with sexual humor, but they tended to drag it out a bit.

Castle in the Sky
Such an incredible film. Pazu was possibly the most likable protagonist I have ever seen. The humor was spot on; the pirates were hilarious! Now I'm looking at Wikipedia and I see Mark Hamill as the voice of Muska... I'm surprised but at the same time the range of his voices is so wide that it shouldn't surprise me. Anyways, this is a fantastic movie and I recommend it to EVERYONE! |

Harold.
About a 13 year old boy with male pattern baldness. Went into it with low expectations and was pleasantly suprised. I may have been high but I think I would've laughed even if I wasn't. |

The Cabin in the Woods. Definitely one of the most interesting horror movies I've ever seen. Loved all the monsters. The ending was also unexpected. It wasn't completely predictable like a lot of other movies out there. I like that in a movie. T'was very good.

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Saw?
This was a good thread. Bringing it back.
I saw Dark Knight Rises recently. I honestly didn't like it that much. The implausibility of the movie deeply troubled me. Bane's voice was more funny than menacing. The prison story wasn't very compelling. Everything about this movie paled in comparison to the Dark Knight. I may have been expecting too much, but I thought TDKR was a 7/10. |

Animal Crossings Movie. Beautiful. And the references to the game. Ugh. So good. 8.5/10

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Saw?
Zodiac. Was a p good crime drama movie based on the actual murders in the 70s. And its just interesting to see the character on the brink of just losing theirbsanity trying to find out who is the zodiac killer.

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Saw?
Pacific Rim - I really liked this movie since I'm into giant monster movies and stuff. Really great special effects. I guess there was a rumor that a sequel of the Godzilla 2014 movie would be a crossover with this, but it turned out to be false. Would have been awesome if it was true. I would see this again at the cheap seats. I'm buying it on blu-ray too when it comes out.
I should watch this again too sometime.

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Saw?
The Conjuring - Was ok I guess, not too much of a story line other than the typical haunting, didn't really go into depth on the history. I went in hoping that I would be scared to death based on everyone else saying it was extremely scary but I honestly thought it wasn't at all. :/
Oops, forgot I seen another movie for the first time too; though Conjuring is the last movie i've seen in theaters~ Memoirs of a Geisha - Though it's kind of starting to be considered "older", I thought this movie was really good all things considered. Nice break from the usual. Last edited by Sweet Angel; 08-4-2013 at 08:48 PM.. |

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Saw?
The last *new* movie I saw was Pacific Rim and I had low expectations from it. Seeing it in 3D, it made it better for me (personally I like watching movies in 3D) and the underwater scenes were amazing. The acting was pretty good from what I remember. The movie actually wasn't too bad. I couldn't tell what the plot was from the (first) trailer but it was entertaining and the length of the movie was not too short and not too long.
Two movies I'm looking forward to seeing soon this month: We're the Millers and Kick Ass 2

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Saw?
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil: Expected low from a black comedy/horror movie. This movie kicked my butt from start to end, and carried greatly a concept I longed to see onscreen. Even the actors' play felt right where they belonged, a deliberately ridiculous spoof of a mediocre splatter movie. Aaaaaand it's canadian.

Re: What Was The Last Movie You Saw?
In theaters was the conjuring. Way overhyped, can't believe people said it was the "scariest movie they'd ever seen"
saw nothing special about it compared to all other haunting/demon movies.
