Black Swan -- thoughts?
What did you think?
Personally, I was not crazy about the movie. The plot bored me to death. Way too predictable and homogeneous. However, the "sweet girl" dark-kitchen scene was easily one of the scariest moments I've ever seen in a film. I don't know why, but that sent shivers down my spine in a way that no horror film ever has. The bathtub scene was also a bit jarring. |

The main actress was REALLY monotonous, and really -__- throughout the entire movie

Re: Black Swan -- thoughts?
I have no seen it yet. The one person I would actually take to see it refused because she is afraid of "scary" movies. Everyone else I know only wants to see comedies or action movies.

Natalie Portman is a Goddess. So is Mila Kunis.

I've heard weird things about this movie. I really don't plan on seeing it. Secretary was more interesting than what I've heard about this.

Re: Black Swan -- thoughts?
I don't think it's released yet in England yet, but I've been waiting for a while to see it as I'm a bit of a Darren Aronofsky fan. I'm trying to keep from being as excited as critics are for the film, just in case if it's disappointing, but I do intend of watching it when it releases (unless if I'm completely wrong and it's already out in England ).

Re: Black Swan -- thoughts?
Saw it tonight. Definately Aronofsky's most mind**** film. Mansill's score was masterful and the editing is a shoo-in for an Oscar. I lost count at how many handicam mirror shots there were where the camera had to be edited out. The cinematography wasn't as subtle as Aronofsky's other work, but it was still fantastic.
I have no idea how you guys thought the plot was boring. I thought it was slow to develop at times, yes, but never boring. The interactions between the characters were just as good. Heinz's screenplay was well written, but I did feel that some of the character interactions could have been flushed out a little more. My only complaint: Quote:

Re: Black Swan -- thoughts?
I saw it the other night. I can't say I enjoyed it because it isn't an enjoyable film to watch. I was queasy for a good portion of it and I felt generally uncomfortable. That said, I loved the experience. I thought it was an excellent film and I hope to see it again.

Re: Black Swan -- thoughts?
Scarier than a scary movie. The anticipation of bad shit happening at any minute in the film kept me on edge throughout. Yet it was interesting, pretty well made, and had good acting. I'd like to see it again to try to fully understand what is real and what is a delusion and better picture in my mind what is really going on when delusions are occurring.
Edit: I thought shit was censored in the forums? lol? |

Re: Black Swan -- thoughts?
When I saw it, I was amazed. The cinematography was top tier, the acting, and it was a story that has never ever being told. I actually got interested because of the director Darren Aronofsky, being a huge fan since ''PI''. Still, it is not a movie that will not be appreciated by everyone, so all of you that like psychological thrillers and weird movies like ''jacob's ladder'' or ''PI'' will love this one. Black Swan = A beautiful nightmare =D
Edit: The soundtrack was incredible!
