1.0X Speed
Is it a weird thing if I find myself getting better PA with 1.0X speed than 1.75X or 2.00X Speed?
Today, I was playing 1.00X Speed for fun because I bought a song -- which automatically switched my speed from 2.00X to 1.00X.. And then I noticed I was getting better scores.. Is this a weird thing? And should I keep playing at 1.00X speed? Does anyone else still play at 1.00X Speed? |

Re: 1.0X Speed
You have to get used to a higher speed.
When i went from 1.50 to 1.75 to 1.875, my pa went from like say 50 goods in an fmo to 70-100, but after a few days of practicing it went down to like maybe 30-40, or maybe even lower.

Re: 1.0X Speed
etylukah still does and gets really good scores
edit: and dragon, that is not always the case. people can play better on 1.0 compared to 1.75 or something just because they have an a easier time reading the arrows. sure most people need some time to get used to faster speed mods but quite a few players do play better on 1.0

Re: 1.0X Speed
LOL
I just played Schmollbluk on 1.0X but I did alright.. combo'd halfway through but then the bursts got kind of hard to read .. Reading 1.0X isnt really as hard as you may think :P It's just a bit cramped together ---- but that's about it |

Re: 1.0X Speed
there's a very good reason people don't read 1x anymore but I'm too lazy to explain it so post +1

Re: 1.0X Speed
I find adjusting to a new setting usually downs my scores a lot at first, but once I adjust it's usually beneficial.

Re: 1.0X Speed
If there are less arrows on the screen, it's easier to read, but with more arrows on the screen, it's harder to PA (unless you get used to it). That's how it is for me anyway.

Re: 1.0X Speed
1.0 +screen cut for most songs is what I use for my aaa's (been getting more 6 and 7's aaa'ed that way) but the reason your pa is better could be 1 of 3 reasons, the timing seems to be more precise for arrow presses (theory right there, no hard facts yet) your eyes can read slower patterns better than faster patterns, or you could just have mad luck.

depends on how good/fast you are at reading.

Re: 1.0X Speed
Hey some people can mash better than others right?
The point is high speed mods like 2.0x help you read stuff more efficiently and you'll have an easier time with PA'ing the song rather than worrying about whether you got the FC or not.

Re: 1.0X Speed
Hai. I don't think Tass scores on these games is showing his true potential.
Here's some x1 scores.. warning slow player and avmisses in replay. lulz Purple: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...play/51446255/ 7-1-0-3 Definitely AAA-able Adventures of Lolo: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...play/50875182/ 41-5-0-24 *Speed problems more than reading but since there's thousand of avmisses we don't see much. |: Speedmods are probably better. I suggest playing with both if you really want to stay on x1 because if you play on faster rates and come back after, everything will seems to be slower and you'll be able to exploit the advantages of having more time to read patterns.
