Weird Question...
Okay so I have a wierd question? Recently I've found myself while playing, that sometimes I kind of fade out when I see a hard part with a bunch of arrows, or when I just zone out because I'm distracted, but I find that I punch in all the arrows, which when I look back over them I think it would have been impossible! Is this my eyes getting used to the game? or is it my fingers or both? and is that good or bad? I would think it would be better to focus while doing it...?

I do that a lot too. Wether it's good or bad is yet to be decided.

If you can zone out and nail tough stuff go for it. That means FFR's becoming second-nature, which will help your scores later on.

It's your sixth sense!
Actually, I simply think flying colored arrows seem to have a hypnotic effect on the brain. |

Re: Wierd Question...
I had that phase, it's just proof that you are getting better.

It's called arrow zen. I'm like that pretty much all the time. You're just going, and not thinking about anything, and then as soon as you stop and try to consciously parse the arrows, you lose your combo.

Naturalization
People who combo almost everything are almost completely naturalized.

Re: Wierd Question...
It kind of Hypnotizes you in a sense, of arrows coming upwards, the page is still and it makes the page as if it's going down therefore it is having an effect on your brains reactions. If somethings are going round all the time, and something inside is going the other way, imagine 2 circles. clockwise going outer and inner anti-clockwise it will have a stopping motion inbetween.

Re: Weird Question...
I'd say its a good thing, it's happened to me a lot as well. Although, if I play for really really long times, I get the zone-out type feeling, but then I get somewhat dizzy, and then feel as though I'm being pulled on ffrom all sides (the opposite of pressure, whatever that is...). Thats a bad thing and means I need to take a break.
But as I said, its usually a good thing. |

Re: Weird Question...
Your brain doesn't need to see the arrows clearly. Your fingers do. If you phase out and hardly realize what you're doing, your fingers aren't going to just stop.
Anyways, the music and arrows are really just distractions so it's not such a boring game. That's why people sightread and try not to think about the game when trying for good scores.

Re: Weird Question...
It's probably why I have such bad PA, but it works for me. I might as well take a nap while playing SM--though I don't like naps.
