Re: TWG CXLIX: Cedolad Replaces out Postgame Thread
ok I decided at first not to post my rant, but given that people are agreeing with it, let me give a short rundown.
that attitude is exactly what I mean by feeling like I'm being thrown into a raid boss on my first game of playing. the amount of deduction and content expected is ludicrous for a new player. what you call shitposting or not providing content was my attempt at proving my innocence. also nice assumption that I didn't read. I read all the pages. but what was I supposed to make from it? I don't know anyone's game. I have 0 experience with previous TWG games. as I said during the game: I left the solving to the experienced players. to me it was better to assume I was wrong than to give an inexperienced opinion, or to get manipulated by people. anything I felt like saying also felt like it would make me more suspicious even saying that this is what I was doing is going to come across as suspicious thanks for accepting me as a guest during your endgame content don't expect me to come back any time soon

Being thrown into a raid boss is kinda a right of passage. Everyone here has done it, and been through it.
One thing I do need to stress, is that this is just a game and to NEVER take anything anyone says personally. It takes a few games to get into the grove of things, in all honesty. I didn't know what I was doing and didn't really understand strats until the 4th or 5th game I played. Regardless, I enjoyed playing with you. Was fun to have ya here. If ya ever wanna return we would love to have you.

"If you're keeping up and reading, you probably have opinions. stating your opinions is gr8," I'm saying, you're going to have something to say regardless, if you've been reading. You're literally saying "i'm new so i shouldn't actually play the game". Playing is getting involved in conversation and contributing your opinions to the knowledge pool so that everyone as a whole has a better stage for analysis. Please don't take what i'm saying as "you're wrong, you're wrong, you're bad etc.". It's not what i'm saying. Because, having read all the pages of a twg, you can still make guesses based on how people interact with each other, or their tone. Just because you don't know a player doesn't mean you don't have anything to say, it's just a matter of thinking. We're not expecting essays. We just need stuff like "zenith talking to danceflashrevo looks a little forced to me". then we ask for elaboration, and then you state posts that made you think that etc. etc. again, it's a thinking exercise. things like "anything I felt like saying also felt like it would make me more suspicious even saying that this is what I was doing is going to come across as suspicious " or "it was better to assume I was wrong than to give an inexperienced opinion, or to get manipulated by people" feels like you're just afraid of being bad? Which is normal given that you're new to TWG, but literally the only way to get over that is to keep trying and not let a feeling of inferiority take over. Example - AragakiAyase has pretty damn quickly become a force in TWG, and i'm not even sure he's played in 10 games yet even (citation needed). And even early on, he made the effort to just ask around for help, advice on what to do etc. so the onus on playing the game, and playing it well is on you. If you wanted to put in the effort, you can definitely git gud. And again, in the end, it's up to you to come back. If you don't want to, that's fine. (again) thanks for sticking it out in the game

Pretty sure this was said before but, it's really a shame this one was your first game.
There were a shit ton of replacements... There was cheating... There was a ragequit... None of these things ever usually happen. (Besides 1 replacement a game usually) But usually things are a LOT better. Sorry x.x

Your first raid boss a rite of passage, sure. But not on your first time playing.
Given that this is my first impression, I don't feel inclined to put months of effort into it in order to learn it. I didn't get a feeling of being welcomed, just punched.

You have every right to voice your opinion, it's good.
This might be a weird way to look at it, but usually if people go easy on you your first game, it's because they don't consider you a valuable player. If anything I see it as respect because they see you as a threat to their win condition. Also, getting punched is exactly how I think most of us experienced our first game.

I do agree that there are very high expectations for players in the game, I even thought about setting a limit on the # of posts a player could make in each phase or something like that, so I will grant you that this is true. It is impressive that you read everything for your first time, it really is. So, I get that you provided content, but it was very unexplained. I remember you dropping a vote and refusing to explain why you were voting for that person. This is what I'm talking about; you need to back up your reasoning. You can't be afraid of what people are going to think of your reasoning regardless of if you're town or not. The general idea of this is kind of simple; if you're town, then what you're saying comes from a town's mindset, and if you speak your mind, then it should come across as townie to other players. Obviously, this is not foolproof because mislynches happen, but its a general idea. I would say that the absolute best advice that I was given when I was starting out was not to care too much about what other people will think regarding how you post or what you post. If you're thinking about that kind of thing, you're going to change how you play almost certainly in a negative kind of way. You also generally shouldn't let the more experiences players try and run the game, most notably for the reason that happened this game; they might be scum. The wolfteam got stronger with the replacements, and the SK was strong as well. The only part of the game you can control is what you contribute, of course, and by limiting what you post because you don't have faith in yourself or you fear you might not be able to get your point across is going to end up biting you in the ass. Do you understand the points I'm making? I feel like I'm repeating myself, sorry. I am sorry you didn't enjoy it and aren't really interested in playing any more. It may not be the game for you, but I do think that if you learned it, you have the kind of personality that allows you to pick it up quickly, so I am disappointed that you're not really interested in playing. I do think that what you set out to do, which was prove your innocence in the manner that you did, did accomplish its goal at first, I remember a lot of people townreading you for the way you were posting, but you understand why that changed later on, right?

Perhaps try a jTWG as those are supposed to be more laid back and oriented towards new players. Anyway, good game Xiz you played beautifully. I was kinda hoping Dap, Haku and Jrodd would figure out Fonti was town, but oh well..win some lose some. Also I was really RNG lucky this game - dodged two kitb's and got a 1 in 6 IC confirm! Thanks based RNG-Sama
