Re: Thirdstyle
thirdstyle is everything that everyone asked to add to ffr over the years. stop saying its too much like sm and that you would rather play that because had thirdstyle been worked on and released when it was planned for ffr this is probably what everyone wouldve been playing and everyone wouldve completely busted a nut over it

Re: Thirdstyle
Patashu brought up a good point about people saying it's too much like stepmania. What simfile artist makes a full chart for their files, outside of DDR files/ITG files?

Re: Thirdstyle
Works fine for me.
I also don't have any lag despite me using Flash 10 (although FFR is extremely laggy from using this). I can't really make judgment on the overall impact of Third Style, although I know the potential can be huge. It's too early to judge the game and the community (the site just opened up, why would you already put judgment on the community? -__-). So far though, the framerate seemed smooth for me, yet I can't get used to the arrow scrolling/general style of the game - harder for me to read the arrows. Also, it's great that there's offset, but it took me quite a while to figure out the proper offset just for a single song. |

Re: Thirdstyle
Thirdstyle engine(game) < KBO engine(game)
Thirdstyle site(useablility, production of community, fronts for bands etc) < Rithum site(ditto) I love the idea they have going but feel if Rithum came back and was managed properly and to the right people the site could dominate in the industry. The design and ideas behind it were absolutely fantastic and wish(if Synthlight does not wish to restart it) give or sell it to some folks that would take it farther. As for 3rdstyle's game, it's polished in terms of graphics(for what graphics it has) but I kinda feel the appearance is trying to mimic SM too much and the settings menu is pretty identical to KBO's alpha settings menu... like a direct copy of it lol. Seems like original ideas, just re-imagined? Dunno. Lots of work to still be done. Guess we'll see how it goes from here. <-- Phynx is tough critic.

Re: Thirdstyle
I don't mind the engine, but let's just hope they don't become marionettes of the industry like last time.

Re: Thirdstyle
As far as I know (at this point): down scroll has been implemented, search function works, you no longer have to scroll the song list with the mouse wheel (there's a slider), a few more songs have been added, offset issue has been seemingly resolved (in that I haven't had to change my offset from 0 for any of the songs and they're all pretty much on sync), and leader boards are up on the song results screen, at least.. all in the course of a few weeks. I'd say they're doing pretty good over there.. give them support!
Also: afaik black screen (with FPS) means you either need to update your Flash player to the current version or simply clear your cache.

Re: Thirdstyle
Game keeps randomly dropping notes on me. Mostly because it sometimes reads the input WAY too late at random times

Re: Thirdstyle
I just played it for a little while. I like it but then some things just don't feel right. Am I the only one who has a little trouble reading TS? It gets tough to stare at after a while. I'm not a fan of the purple edges and the lined background. And as stated before in this thread my biggest complaint is that I have to change my speedmod for every song I play.
Looking forward to seeing what this site will become. |

Re: Thirdstyle
[opinion]
I don't really like the feel of the game or the community. They are all trying way to hard to be really cool and sleek. Not really fond of the administrators either. [/opinion] I registered to take my name but that is as much as I am doing there. |
