Wolfenstein: The New Order
Thoughts / any good? / how will it match up against my unrealistic expectations of having it evoke those fun memories of Wolf3D/SoD nostalgia?

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order
No experience with the old games but i watched a playthrough of The New Order, seemed pretty good, and looked a bit challenging, bosses had some clever moments. The maps didnt make it feel like you were playing a rail shooter and it seems to be pretty well received by critics as well.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order
It's pretty good.
Decent nostalgic fanservice, good balance between modern shooter conventions (regenerating health, but not fully) and classic gameplay (you still need healthpacks). Maps are fairly clever and there's enough variety. I enjoy it.

Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order
A few hours into the game now.
So far, it's been fun -- but it evokes the same feelings I had when I played the new Tomb Raider game. In other words, this is "Wolfenstein in Name Only." Almost all the mechanics are new-gen. About what I expected, but eh. |
